MY MUM and dad come over once a week and i want to give them a nice dessert dish or something, they usually visit after dinner, so itl be nice to give them a nice dessert dish. but i dont know what to make, nothing too long and expensive, we on a tight budget so something simple and fairly low budget pls

doesnt have to be dessert, just a snack even..

Not sure where you are but assuming you are in N. America... buy an applie pie $4 and a small box of vanilla ice cream...$4. Slice a piece of pie, warm it up in microwave and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The warm apple pie with cold ice cream...it's heaven on earth!

already tried this, mums diabetic, and dad isnt fond of too many sweet things...*sigh*

so i guess i should stick to desi style desserts ( for some reason mum forgets her `diabetes` when i produce some halwa, yet moans about her health and that im killing her, when i produce a trifle or something `western`....)
