Hi All,
A family friend of ours, who is getting to that age where she's wanting to learn how to cook she's 16. I don't remember my first beginning dishes, that helped me ease into cooking as now much older. I was wondering if anyone can post their recipes?? (desi and non-desi ones)

She tried to make biryani and as her mum told me me, she almost burned the kitchen down, she can make chai, egg, toast(sandwiches), etc. its more the desi dishes, and she's trying to begin learning.

Much Thanks!

start with boiled white rice....its not as eas as u think

simple dishes are daal...there's several kinds of daals...

aloo-mattar-gajar...

aloo-mattar thats more of a soup based

A simple chicken karahi/nihari/quorma/curry is not very difficult to cook..she can start with boneless pieces, as they cook faster and are easier to handle....

For me, its the rice dishes that are challenging

^ fry onions and garlic and tomatoes, add some masalas, bhoon the chicken, lower heat and cover, for about 15 minutes (depending on how big the chickken is)....when cooked, if u want to make it a little dry, put it on high heat for a few minutes. done.
