Udaas si is shaam meiN ye saath aakhri hey
hum donoN jaantey they ye mulaaqaat aakhri hey

meiN ney kaha kuch to kaho ke aaj aey jaan-e-man
jholi meiN apni lamhoN ki ye kheiraat aakhri hey

wo kehney lagi kehney ko kuch bacha nahi magar
laboN pe ab bhi lagta hey koi baat aakhri hey

meiN ney kaha ab aaNkhoN meiN koi aks nahi raha
lagta hey jesey zindagi ki ye sa'aat aakhri hey

wo falak ko tak ke karney lagi mojzoN ki baat
meiN sochney laga umeed ki ye soghaat aakhri hey

meiN ney kaha ab aas ka naya kheil kya kheileiN
ke khuwaahishoN ki bisaat par ye maat aakhri hey

wo kehney lagi aaj lagta hey har taara sog'waar
jesey chaandni aur chaand ki ye raat aakhri hey!
