Gum-gashta muhabbat k khwaboN ki tarah haii
wo rooh ke sehra mein saraboN ki tarah haii

wo zeest ke maktab mein nisaboN ki tarah haii
parhta hoon usse roz, kitaboN ki tarah haii

ab un se khiyaloN mein hii ho jatii hain baatien
gou beech mein parda sa hijaboN ki tarah haii

uss shaks k lehjay mein sheeshay ki khanak haii
rug rug mein uterta hai, sharaboN ki tarah haii

us shaks k paikar mein haii shaakhoN ki lachak sii
uss shaks ka chehra bhee gulaboN ki tarah haii

jo vasal ki raatoN mein hai ik mah-e-munaver
furqat mein wohii shaks azaboN ki tarah haii
