I am going to be traveling to Isb this December. Although it will be mostly dealing with business matters, I would like to get the chance to see a few sites. Would you recommend any places in Isb to visit?

Great! These are some excellent recommendations. In regards to transport, I understand that you can hire a car for day with a driver?

Plenty of places to visit close to Islamabad: Pir Suhawa, Muree, Nathiagali, Taxila, Abbotabad.

just out of interest i'll be going to islamabad too in december, so how much would it cost to hire a car and driver for a day (im staying for about 3 to 4 days)
I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by

The rent differs, depending on make and model of car, but still you can hire a very good car with driver from Pak Rs. 1500 -2500 per day.
In December if you want to see mountains then can go for Muree which is normally covered with snow.
Do Visit Lok-Virsa Museum, Food Street in Melody Market, Old City of Rawalpindi to get to know the local food and culture.
There is always a moral in every story
