Nadra Islamabad is not of much help particularly if u are overseas. Try to email them, they will take their time in issuing the card. I am struggling with them for the last six months for my children's cards.

NADRA has an online status tracker for your POC or NICOP application on their website. The stupid thing never works though.
I've been trying to find out about the status of my son's POC, but haven't succeded yet.

There are a couple of NADRA people in Islamabad who responded to me by email, when I chased up my NICOP application last year, and it got processed fairly quickly (4 weeks). I found them to very helpful. If you would like their names, please send me a PM.
Otherwise you can call their national call center on 111-786-100.

You got me scared with your post, because I had applied for my son's POC in late September 05, as we are planning to go to Pakistan in January 06.
So I called up the embassy today to ask about the status and they said "Your sons card is here already."
I went to the embassy then and got it from there. Lucky me.

Umer, my case is different. You & your wife both are of Pakistani origin. Its not the case with me. My wife is not of pakistani origin though can apply for POC.
My case confused NADRA. I am British by nationality, my NICOP was issued to me when I was living in Canada (country of stay is Canada on it). My Children were born in Netherlands, holding British nationality and my wife holds Italian nationality.
The whole thing has confused NADRA, because they dont know that life is much easy in EU when comes to living, an EU citizen can live & work anywhere.
They issued my NICOP in eight weeks, but its my children they are making problem for. I am also considering to apply POC for my wife.

But once they have accepted your application there shouldn't be any issue left. Have you only dealt with embassy people or also with NADRA staff. The latter are usually more competent.
