Has anybody stayed at Envoy Continental - Islamabad?

I'm planning to stay here for two nights, in the summer insha allah. I've heard it's reasonably cheap?

It's located in the Bue Area - what is this area like? Is it far from the main attractions in Islamabad? - I've heard it has some good food outlets?

Serena is definitely not the best (a missed opportunity). Marriot is much much better than Serena.

I think Sareena is better than others however is more expensive.

Islamabad is one the most beautiful capital in the world. If you are not very much health consious do go to Peshawar morr for chappal kebab.

Parks are every where in the city and also u can walk up to Shakarpariyan for view of the city. But remember do not travel alone after sunset at any cost, espacially in margalla hills.

Shah Faisal mosque is more like a picnic spot and would recommend to go there for prayers and not just to look at it.

I have not been to Jinnah super, so cant say about it.

Nice place to be and I am sure u will like it alot.

Enjoy Islamabad.

Envoy is a good location in Islamabad, but then again Islamabad is so small that everywhere is in a good location considering hotels, excpet the ones on Islamabad club road, which is reasonsably far away from everything.. Make sure you bargain A LOT!!! They set really high prices thinking foreigners will just walk in and pay wats written. Tell them your staying for 2 nights and you want a price inclusive of taxes (taxes are high) and keep arguing they will come down a lot. And it depends on where your from on what you'll find in islamabad to visit. Mostly people come to islamabad to escape the real pakistan and see something different, IE, semi clean, some greenery, mountains, a bit of organization. Thats pretty much it.

Try Sufi resturant at Peshawar Morr. Yum Yum Tummy.... Bar B' Q, all sort of karahis, etc., etc.

When in Islamabad, buy the newspaper, The Daily News. On the second page of the newspaper, in the first and the second columns you will find what is happening in the city. Contrary to its hushed up looks, a lot of activity happens indoor Islamabad. You will find art exhibitions, cultural exhibitions, food festivals, etc., in those 2 columns. Almost all are open to public. When I was there, we used to do that a lot.

I am English and stayed in the New Cape Grace guest house in April 2008 for nearly a month whilst applying for my husbands visa.
I have total respect for this Guest House located in sector F-6 of Islamabad and would recommend it to anyone.
It provides:
Value for money
Comfortable rooms that are cleaned EVERY day
No unwanted visitors- i.e bugs and reptiles!
And most important it is run by Karim and his son who can't do enough for you.
They are full of information about most subjects and were an enormous help during our particular stay.
