I think that this documentary represents only a certain section of society, and that section of society was always like this: the so called 'liberal' and 'modern' elite class. The only difference is that now they openly display it in media, as opposed to a few years back.
I have lived in Karachi for a few months, and I have seen all type of people there: extremely liberal and modern ones, and their polar opposite exteremly conservative too. However, one should remember that if you travel just a little bit further into interior Sindh, it's a different story...so it's not as if life is very much different for the majority of Pakistani people.

I saw this back when it was first aired but then forgot about it. Loved part 2 with its bit on trucks and the art that goes with it. As for the 'oh look at me i dress expensive and slutty so i'm modern' people in the first part, they're kidding no one but themselves.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
