There are plenty of options available now for a short trip. You can select the best option for you.

1. Using internet access cards. You will need a landline phone. Cost will be quite low, but performance below average. Connection speed, no more than 50k at best.
2. Using Wireless phone. Theres PTCL wireless, as well as Worldcall. Prices for both are the same. They are pay-as-you-go. You load up a card, and use it when needed. Speed is not that great, slightly better than dialup, plus depends on the signal strength.
3. Get a usb modem from one of the mobile phone vendors. Almost all of them provide those now. Ufone, Telenor and warid do for sure. Cost of the modem ranges from 6000 rupees to 10,000 rupees. Unlimited monthly package is around 600 - 800 rupees. Once your vacation ends, simply stop using it. You can reactivate the modem on your future trips. Speeds up to 2mb, depending on your package.
