Which hotels would you recommend if someone is visiting Lahore and is staying there for three or four days? Nothing expensive, something average. How much does the price run per night to rent one room on average?

I would Prefer.... GUEST HOUSE over HOTEL....

Any Reasonable Guest house will Cost... Almost Rs 1000 a night along with NAAHSTA

^ Thanks.

In 2001, coming back to USA, my flight from lahore was delayed due to some technical difficulties and PIA arranged our stay at Best Wester. It was a nice hotel and service was pretty good too I just don't know what area it was in I guess there's only one Best Western and I can ask the cab driver to take me to Best Western and he'll know what I am talking about.

p.s. Stupid people gave hotels a bad name

Best Western is in Liberty, Lahore.....It was previously Called Shalimar Hotel....It is a 3 (May be 2)star quite reasonable hotel...I have myself stayed there 2 times when i visited there in Lahore...It is near the world Famous Gaddafi Cricket Stadium & National Stadium of Hockey(2 Blocks away)...

Mind it....Guest Houses in Lahore are...first not very abundant & second not good(though you may find one if there is a new one opened there during the last year).....those that are present ,are near the Lahore Railway Station & are in deplorable condition....

One Motel that i can think of is present quite in the center of Lahore on The Mall(Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam as it is also called)...near the Aitchison College...It seems to be pretty good & is quite central...it is also near the GOR(the place where Lahori Beuraucrats live)though I forgot its name...but it is a definite try....

Much advisable things are...Don't stay in those small 1 star hotels & motels near Icchra/Chaubur jee/Lahore Railway Station/Davis Road etc...Instead try those small but clean hotels in the Residential areas like Gulberg & Defence e.g very very small Saba Hotel in Defence....

Lastly if you can spend 75-100 US $ per night...then try Pearl Continental & Avari Hotel....or Holiday Inn off Mall....All are 5 or 4 Stars...Another good hotel is Ambassador Hotel ....an old Hotel ...but a reasonable one...Many Old Pakistani movies of 60's & 70's were shot there...

Thanks Goliko for the info

By any chance, do you recall the price at Best Wester (Shalimar) per night? If it's 1000-2000 Rupees per night, I can afford it.

^ I guess it should be around 2,000 Rs.....may be b/w 1,500 & 2,500....I guess if you are wishing to spend this much money ...this is a definite yes.....It is also quite central...you can get all the Taxi cabs here...plus the shopping at Liberty...Many good eat outs(like Salt n pepper,Hot Potato,Gogo etc ) are also there...& don't forgot to eat Benazir Kulfa,Gol Gappay, chanay ki chaat, & Gunnay ka juice from there....It is also at a stones throw from Ghalib Market/Road...Lahori Food chain/eat outs road...

Only if some kind lahori guppy shows me around and helps me Yeah, I plan to stay there unless my relatives insist that I stay with them. 2000ish per night isn't that bad. I heard they have some good chinese restaurants

The only thing I am afraid of is me being kidnapped by a taxi wala or somene else It'll ruin my fun Warna I plan to visit Minar-e-Pakistan, Baadshahi Masjid, Shahi Qila, Shopping Malls and all those places, let's see what happens.

Thanks a lot for the information yaar

^Nahin yaar cab drivers are not that bad...unn sey sirf Punjabi mein baat karna...I did that too....+ never get confused...just show your confidence....as if you have ever lived there....even if they some how know that you were not from there....just tell them...abbhi 6 maheenay pehlaay hi tou main yahan ayaa thaa...tubb tou aisa nahin thaa.......
Almost all good Chinese restaurants are on the Main Boulevard Gulberg Lahore...it's a china town of Chinesese Restaurants in Lahore...
Lastly if you do have relatives in Lahore...they would never let you live in a Hotel...even if you do...Dekhnaa they would get angry(It's ultaa in Pakistan...)...& my advice if you have very near relatives in Lahore...do stay with them...rather then Hoteling...

Dekhtey hain kia hota hai. They are distant relatives, not chacha maamo waghera. I guess I'll be taking rikshaws

1. They are fun
2. They are cheap
3. If somone tries to kidnap me, I'll jump out from the back
