What are the best localities of Lahore?
The victories of men depend on their ability to signal their intention, impose their will and act with alarming speed in the battlefield.

^Iqbal town all the way
Defence is very over-rated.
Gulberg is expensive n not safe to live in.
Sabzazar is peaceful n ideal location.
Township is also cool
so is Bhaati (Bilaaj Ganj)

defence is expensive as hell. if they make cantt cooler i'll go there but for now what i've seen kinda sucks. go to the new abaadi, aka the area beyond township. it will be relatively clean and raods would be better and not enough traffic, but the downside is that you will be away from the main stuff. but at the rate lahore is expanding, you will be soon enough near to all the hot spots.
i'll ask around and get an opinion of what is the latest good areas to get in.
oh and gulberg's getting commercial now from what i see.

Iqbal town is over crowded & I dont think it has any good smell left in it, used to be good place to live until 2002/2003 after that its reputation is down the hill, even though still very very great area. (Hardly any empty plot left to buy).
Defence is over-priced without any reason. Yet clean & organised, if u can afford I'd recommend Defence.
Gulberg is old, even though they are rebuilding most of areas still its old, its not over priced but due to its location is expensive. Safety is not different from other places of Lahore.
Depending how much u can spend, I'd recommend Valencia or Wapda Town. Johar Town can be another option but Johar town is LDA Scheme & LDA is most corrupt place in Lahore after WAPDA. (WAPDA Town, however, is a private society & ur investment is secure there). Buy only in Johar Town if u transfer that land & start building immediately on that land & someone must start living in the building (too much fraud in Johar Town, even though its very very nice area - next to Canal).
Township is old area, some parts are OK but most of Township is messed up. Other place I can recommend is area on Raiwind Road (try not to buy anything LDA related, go for private schemes but seek advice before signing/paying). Izmir, EMI are all fine (even though a bit far from Lahore centre).

Allama Iqbal Town - isn't that the area where all the Lollywood stars live or used to live...so I heard.
Defence I agree is over-rated.
Is Liberty market in Gulberg? If it is then it seemed pretty safe when I was there.

I was thinking about the new abaadi as well but I am a city person at heart, but I guess over time these areas becoming more lively.
Thanks for asking around for me.

if you want current city life, then go with faisal town. i was shocked at how commercial the main road is that goes through faisal town. but i'm thinking in a few more years it would be like shahdra town or something like that, and people will just move away from there eventually.
