Don't know where else I could post this but HELP!!!
I had my nose pierced last fall, its going well but the nose ring i have " a little diamond and platnium one" has a coil...meaning you coil it into my nose.
But i'm having trouble with the ring because it always shows in my nose...I can't "coil" the circle tighter b/c then its difficult to get in and out.
I was wondering if i could just cut it so its an L shape....does anyone see/think that would be a problem? The amerians in the jewelry/nose ring store don't like the idea.
btw...I chose coil over a 'screw' because I thought the screw ones would be painful...but now i'm stuck!

the L shape thing is not a good idea. Just make the jewllers alter it for you and convert it into a nose pin instead of nose ring.
The Push-in pin type. :-|

I was actually about a start a thread on it.
Say you get it pierced and you don't like it, is there anyway you could have it reversed somehow?

amelie, most of the girls i know here who it in the 'L' shape as well... usually when you them from the stores, they bend it for you with the plyer (sp?) into an 'L' shape
if u dont like the screw thingy at the back.. have u tried using just the normal stud? ive tried the screw thing, the L shape, and the one where its like a pin and u put it in the lil pipe.. but im most comfortable with the stud stopper... u cant even fill it
happy happy happy... happy happy happy

Sadiyah, I know of a few girls who got their nose pierced and then removed the pin... thing is with the nose, the hole closes up really fast.. even if u dont wear it for lets say 5-6 hours.. its torture to get the pin in again... most of the girls who have taken it out, u dont even notice they had a hole.. but i guess it depends on skin type too

hey gal..........i had my nose done when i was only 5/6 and know ikept my nose pierced after all those years
the point im trying to maek is that in the uk theres a new "fashion" thats there "l" shape ear rings .......its not half of the normal nose ring which makes it easy to slip in and out of place.............i personally wear the full shape of the nose ring so i got no probs in that section......................

Hmmm thanks girls!!!
Sadzz..problem is that I invested into the diamon one and the jeweler there won't change it...she prefers coils and just says that oh you've got a sensitive nose...which is why i have to keep the coil wide and it shows... I'm considered going to someone to have it changed

Sadiyah, I had both my nostrils pierced and took out jewellery from both of them. I have some scarring on one of the holes but unless someone knows I had it pierced, they can't even tell it's there. If you are getting pierced, always make sure you get a good piercer who will use a needle (14-16 guage). That should minimize scarring. Stay away from piercing guns or anything like that.

SS, scars sound bad. Also, needle must be really painful. I thought I could easily get it done with the piercing guns because that's how I got my ears pierced and it didn't hurt too much.

No, don't use a piercing gun. One of my nostrils was pierced by a gun, the other by a needle. Honestly, the gun hurt more. It's more liable to mess up and get infected because those guns are only designed to punch through ears. Mine did get infected, whereas the needle one was clean and did not give me any trouble. The scar is also left from the one that was pierced by a gun. Needles are very precise. And actually pain free. I have a low pain threshold yet I didn't have any pain getting my nose pierced. There was no dull hrobbing ache afterward like with the gun pierced one either.
STRONGLY recommend needles. You have a better relationship with the piercer too; more aftercare instructions. A good piercer will give you his or her card to call anytime it gets infected. Guns walay, I've never even seen mine again, even when it messed up.

i had mine done by a gun 9 yaers ago... and ive never had any trouble.. even in pakistan these days they are using the piercing gun (my sis got hers pierced from there) and it looks fine..
amelie, just ask someone else for it... or what u can do is for the time being get them to put a coil one in, and after a month you can put ur diamond one in. The usually recommend you to keep wearing the original one for a few weeks neways... my sis wore a really big ugly thing for awhile and then i got her to change it to a smaller stud...
it'll be fine
