Hey everyone,
Im glad theres finally and Pakistani forum where i can ask advice! I need some help.. My fiance's birthday is coming up and i have no idea what would be a appropriate gift. I want to get somthing that he can actually use, hes in med school now so i thought maybe a PDA phone to be organized??? The guy has everything from the latest electronics to the most updated medical dictionaries I even asked him lol, and he said he's fully content with me he has showered me with gifts all the time and i just want to show him that i care. What have you given to your fiance in the past?

Am not sure about doctors, but I think most people like surprises as I mentioned in another thread.
Quote:
I don't know if it is available in your area. Black mugs on which apparently nothing is written. You send a request to the manufacturers regarding what you want to be written on those cups. People even send their picture along with their spouse and any note, flowers or heart shape they want on the cup in which ever design they desire.
What actually happens is that when he receives it, it would look a simple black mug to him. Lets say after few days when he want to use it, the moment he pours anything into it for drinking, suddenly your pic along with an "I love you" note will appear on the mug.
You need to search through Google to be able to find the place in your country from where you may order it. Here in Turkey it is very cheap. I don't know what they call it in English, but I hope I am able to convey the idea.
|
Just for example, kindly consider the following:

Read not to contradict and confute, not to believe and take for granted, not to find talk and discourse, but to weigh and consider. Inhale positive, exhale negative

(submission)- i like your idea of the cup, its a good way to remind him of me lol but i need somthing more to show i appreciate him. zilent -let me kno if you come across anything, its really hard to find the perfect gift, especially for a guy, they have it soo easy!!!

I am sure its a typo and you meant "wait." Amazing how one letter can change the entire meaning...
You have the right to remain silent, anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you.

^^ But that would have been one hell of a surprise
Btw presenting some thought provoking book/documentary can be a good idea. Or may be a Guitar if he likes music or piano or drums.

Where do you get these ideas from... i think the surprise idea would be lovely...
First, send in a Banquet....like 50 roses through delivery, then a box of choco.... all this when he is not with you... then..lastly, the mug idea is GREAT... add an extra touch,if you have places where they print personal stuff, then get a pic of both of you printed on it and present it to him....... he sure is going to love it...

Guys he's in med school, he wouldn't want all those perfumes or anything!
One of my friends got a bathroom curtain with Cell Cycle printed on it, the whole cycle along with all the proteins and everything. It was soooo cute. When I started, one of my friends gave me a calendar type planner to put on the desk, which had medically-related daily humor cartoons. On a more practical note, if he hasn't bought his steth and medical kit yet, you can try buying a steth for him. A nice one ofcourse!

Gracias! hehe glad you liked the idea. I spend $400 on them, they were very classy and he loved them. woven cuff links are nice but $1950 is a bit much. You can do a small trip for that much. I love travelling so i would do a trip over anything any day! hehe

Well in my general understanding, guys like to pamper their girlfriends/ fiancees/ wives with expensive gifts, but don't always like the return in a comparable monetary value. Obviously, their huge egos get ruffled when the 'lady' brings in the better, more expensive present.
Also, not all men are perky and metrosexual. My man for once doesn't object to wearing branded clothing but doesn't necessarily shop for them either. If a gift comes his way, he'll take it, or if he likes smthng classy or there's a sale, he'll gladly get it but he would never specifically go to holt's to do his shopping.
I think you should buy him any gift that you please, expensive or not, but focus more on doing somthing extra special instead. I think that will tug at his heart harder than any thing that you 'buy'..
My husband loves oatmeal raisin cookies. When we used to meet up before we got married for movies or just aimlessly driving around, I would make some and individually wrap them up in pretty paper and ribbon and leave a note in each package. Later I would sneak the package behind his seat and after he'd drop me off, we'd be on the phone again and I would tell him how I left something for him on the backseat. I can't tell you how much that just made him happy and how he couldn't stop talking about it
Similarly, I also surprised him a couple times by calling him from outside his workplace when he was at a break. And then I'd just show up or ask him to come outside and he would just whoop me up and carry the hugest grin ever.
hont mere thay, magar in ki..har ek baat thay tum...
