Can you really lose a relationship on a text message?

My friend has a girlfriend that he had for couple of months jokingly he texts his girlfriend that this relationship can't work out the girl turns out be a total B*tch and is saying that this relation is actually over even though my friend has told her that it was a joke. She isn't reverting and is stubborn as a constipated elephant. So what is the remedy for this?

I am sorry but the lady is not B* .. ur friend is a dud ... earlier part of relationship is so fragile that its just plain stupid to joke like that. She did not even know him good enough to know when he is joking or simply put he did not have time to prove by his actions that his words can be a joke

You dont 'Jokingly" tell someone ur breaking up with them. What the hell was he thinking?

damn straight! ur frend is stupid... my ex used to do that to me regularly and it used to piss me off... when i wudnt ring him he wud hound me for giving up on the relationship so easily.... he wanted me to beg him or something but my parents taught me respect for myself and i showed him my middle finger... ur frend myt not be as psychotic as my ex (trust me he was slighlty psychofied) but still a relationship is so delicate and if he wants her back he needs to do some serious apologising!

Anyway, it can be one of two things:

Either she wont take him back because she really is fed up with his nonsensical jokes.

Or she was looking for a reason to end it and now she has one.

Nothing less then a diamond ring will work for this one...minimum 1/5 carats if he is a struggling standup comedian or something and doesnt have much.
