Is a fair request for a spouse / finacee to ask the other one to change / or alter their physical appereance.
Lets say to
- to lose weight?
- get botox?
- dress a certain way?
- dye your hair a certain color
- to get bangs
To some extent I think it's okay. Why not? But what are some things you would do and the other things are just crossing the line.
i.e I will NOT dye my hair!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

And don't ever dye it...you have gorgeous hair, NJ
I stopped dying my hair black, at the request of my husband, when i was at Uni. In all these years together, that has been his only "firm request" to me.
I tell him to do things all the time - "how about getting your hair cut like this" "try this style of clothing"..."how about this face cream" (ok i don't have to tell him that one, as i know he secretly uses my creams )
Otherwise, what's wrong with your partner suggesting something? I think it's nice and shows that he cares... So long as it's " try this" not " do this"... then i'm fine with considering it.
Some women get all uptight when the shoes on the other foot, but truthfully, we control men and what they do.... i think it's pretty emasculating.
Let a man be a man... sometimes.

Sabi - Botox is the Botulism poison that can be injected into your face to paralyse the facial muscles. Stops you looking all wrinkly basically.
And it's safe to use.
Oh and it can be used in armpits and around feet to stop excessive sweating.

and I guess, if your/someone's fiance is asking you to do all this for him, as he wants you to look good.. what's so bad about trying it once?? [all the things except you know botox] is it a wrinkle preventive surgery/therapy?? :s

Nope, it's not painful...just temporary discomfort.... though you should always go to a professional certified person to have it done... there have been all too many cases of people going to beauticians who have no certifications and thus, the person has been left somewhat... disfigured.

I think to ask your partner to change their appearance with any needles is just pure rude

Emm after octuplets that would be a necessity, not a request from the hubby!

losing weight, having a haircut/hairdye done for the sake of your lover's happiness is just fine.. but i don't understand why some people ask their loved ones to go through painful stuff just for the sake of their own wishes/desires/happiness whatever they call it. It's not OK, IMO

I think its totally fair but if you dont like what he/she is suggesting, they shouldnt get offended if you dont do it. Changing a hair style or color is fine for me but botox and tummy tucks are taking it a bit too far IMO.

I think Botox is just a bit too much, its like my colleague's much celebrated boyfriend asked her a few times to get lasik done , she did .. then he asked her to get a breast enhancement surgery done .. some things are just too rude
.. but other innocent requests from husbands can be taken quite positively ... like wearing clothes, hairstyles etc ... like Maroush said , they show that he cares for you ...
