My old crush - a cousin - is getting married. I can't bring myself to like the girl. I am already not going to the wedding.

I just can't feel any happiness for them. I'm sometimes worried that subconsciously I may try to play some games. Like, I was involved in picking out a makeup set for her. I picked the nicest set I could find, in terms of color, but it's not a brand that I personally like...

Help. I feel guilty about disliking her. I have zero desire to speak to her or make her feel welcome to our family.

Why do you not like the girl, PCG?

Is she annoying in some way or the other? Do you think she isn't good enough for your cousin or perhaps not the right fit for him? Or is it possible you still might have feelings for him?

Hmm......as far as the gift is concerned.........perhaps the problem is that you're buying something that ONLY she can use. And since you don't like her.......your feelings for her are impacting what gift you buy. Instead, try getting a gift that BOTH OF THEM can use. That way, you'll be more motivated to buy something that's good with better intentions because you'll also consider him as well.

You liked the colors of the makeup. Irrespective of the brand......at least you didn't pick something with tacky colors. Now THAT would have been mean. Is the brand a reputable one.....even if you're not crazy about it? For example, one might not like Guess in general......but might like a particular pair of shoes by the label.

Well as long as you know how you feel and want not to do things that might be perceived as "Evil" , I think your on the right track PCG !

It would be good to just not interact with her if it makes you feel uncomfortable.....and whenever you have to make it as brief as possible. Also do not get yourself overly involved or sucked into the wedding preparations.
