I will be visiting london for a week in July. And since I have never been there, I wud really appreciate it if some uk guppies can list the must-see places and things that I absolutely should do when I am there.

Does it help to have ISIC (International student identity card) there?

Oh, and how is the weather there in july?
Thanks in Advance!

To name a few........

London Eye
Madam Taussaunds
London Dungeon

Weather should be pretty hot in July, I'm sure you can use your ISIC card for discounts in most places too, I know you can definetely use it to get a reduction on your underground tickets.

And then you have all the shopping places which is where I excel. Drop me a pm when you get here and I'll take you out on the town.

Yes. When I went to London several years ago, my ISIC saved me much more than the annual fee I had to pay for it.

Places to visit include:

The London Eye
Trafalgar Square
Buckingham Palace
Harrods/Hamleys
Tower of London
Madame Tussauds and Planetarium
Check out the markets e.g. Camden and Covent Garden.
Museums and Galleries are all free apart from special exhibitions.
The Tate modern and national history museums are good to see.

Greenwich and the old palace grounds ... I also liked what they've done with Canary Wharf and Canada Square. Also, try and visit Regent's Park Masjid .... I think the architecture of this building is lovely.

Yeah, Green Street ... ... Get some mithai from Ambala's. I love that place. We literally bring boxes back with us full of mithai anytime one of us go to London.

Hampton Court is GORGEOUS! I went there with Shinoo. You can ask her if it is worth visiting .... I think it is stunning and the maze was fun too.

Yeah suroor, Hampton Court is worth it. We had a fun day (we were stuck in the maze for 30 mins )

Waise Green Street isn't all that. I mean shops are nice but the food is nothing special.

Are you kidding me? Mobeen's restaurant is fantastic! When we lived there, he only had one shop on Green Street and now, he has a couple of Mobeen's Chicken and Chips shops on Green Street and High Street in East Ham. Also, Kebabish is quite good. There is an Afghani styled restaurant too next to Kebabish ... can't remember the name. It's at the beginning of Green Street. You should try that next time if you get a chance.

Mehnaz, I hated kababish! The food was really bad. We were with a group of 5 people and all of us had something different. Apart from the biryani everything looked and tasted bad. I've definitely had better food in London in smaller places that don't have a 'big' name.
