The Pentagon will be sending 12,000 to 15,000 additional U.S. troops to Afghanistan, possibly as soon as the end of this year, with planning underway for a further force buildup in 2009.
A request by Gen. David McKiernan, the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan, for three U.S. brigades with support staff has been approved. "Now that means we just need to figure out a way to get them there," adds a senior defense official....

through gwadar? marching on to kabul, doing some general cleanup along the way in FATA.

Rebel X, I really don't understand why did you mention Gwadar, referring to FATA is understandable though.

where else would large ships unload the soldiers. I dont think they will fly them all. plus with iran yip yaping that would be a little message to them to take a chill pill.

does not make sense to have military personnel and vehicles unload in Karachi. Gwadar is teh closest point as well.

Troops are airlifted to overseas destinations by transport planes (i.e. C-130), and US military has 100's of transport planes.
