General Ashfaq pervaiz Kayani COAS Pak Army flew in an F16 over foriegn funded miltant hideouts in the tribal areas.
Reports are that he participated in a full fledged bombing raid on militant hideouts.
It is said that The Air chief Flew in a seperate jet for obvious reasons.
Anyways this is the example of a man leading from the front so that his troops know that he is fighting shoulder to shoulder with them.
Every other day he is visiting forward areas and the Pakistani nation should be proud of such sons of the soil.
Pak Army Zindabad
Pakistan Paindabad.

Taking part in front-line combat is, in my opinion, not wise. Being on the front-line is one thing (and very valuable) . But taking part is offensive activity puts an unneeded risk on a strategic leader.

The harm to morale that would come from losing the army head far outways the propaganda and moral gain from the stunt.

Muslims are so good at dividing that they can divide the atom. If you see two Muslims, probably they belong to 3 parties.

@ Madscientist...Sir I respect your opinion but it is men such as him whom the soldiers on the ground need to see and hear about.....think of the news spreading through out the camps of the army.
Air Marshal Nur Khan flew combat missions....His men wrote a history which is every airforces envy.
The soldier on the ground needs to know that General Sahib is fully involved and you can only do that once you put your own life on the line.

I am posting 2 videos

He could have done the job better by visiting a regiment in the forward positions. Many hundreds more of the ordinary jawaans who are the backbone of our fighting force would have been able to see him amongst themselves - while he would have had the added security the whole time of having thousands of Pakistan's finest around him to protect him.

Going in an air force plane limited the number of soldiers who could see him; and also meant that only one person (the pilot of the plane he rode in the back of) would be able to protect him against enemy attacks.

Yesterday activity was most surprising and exciting activity seen by this nation in years from COAS.

I 30% agree with Mad_Scientist. There was a great deal of risk involved flying this top notch state of the art Fighter plane and doing this Mark 2 sortie. But at the end end of the day he passed the test with flying colours

Mind you the flying this extreme machine F-16 requires physical and mind endurance and a decade long extensive training.

I watched and observed just one simmilar action where PAF allowed a non-pilot to take a ride of this F-16. They thoroughly checked his medical fitness and made him sign a document that he will not lodge any legal action against the Air force in case he lost his mind or body or senses during the once in life time ride.

That was an amazing and rare tv documentry shown on tv some 4 years ago (2004 ) I was lucky that i saw that programe that day. Sadly that show is not available anywhere for viewing/ but thank to gupshup, we have the shared experience from that time recorded and accessable any time. from anywhere

Talat Husain flies F-16!

isn't going to the forward position on land far more riskier than a fly by, given the circumstances?

But then why is it this or that? may be he can do both
