So far both Pakistanis are performing very good, specially Khurram Agha.
Saleh Muhammad has won his 4 out of 6 games so far and Khurram's record is 4-1 in five games. Khurram has 2 and Saleh has one more games. Hopefully both will advance to the next round.

Khurram, Saleh still in the hunt at Worlds
Wednesday, November 05, 2008
By Syed Khalid Mahmood

KARACHI: Both the Pakistan cueists, Saleh Mohammad and Khurram Hussain Agha, started their campaign on a winning note in the knockout stage of the IBSF World Snooker Championship 2008 being played at Wels, Austria.

In the round of last 64, Saleh edged out Kevin Van Hove of Belgium 4-3 while Khurram overpowered Jyari Virtanem of Finland 4-2.

In the round of last 32, Saleh will be pitted against the dangerous Colin Gilcreest of Ireland who was given a bye in the previous round. The Irish had topped the Group B, having notched up breaks of 142, 96, 91, 89, 88, 87, 70, 70, 65, 59, 54, 53 and 52 while winning all his league matches.

Khurram’s opponent in the last 32 would be Au Chi Wai of Hong Kong, who had topped the Group K at the end of the league matches.

Khurram extended his brilliant run by hammering local boy Richard Komberger in straight frames in his last league encounter late Monday evening. It was his sixth victory in seven games with the solitary defeat coming at the hands of former world champion Steve Mifsud of Australia, who emerged the Group N champion despite having equal number of points as the Pakistan youngster.

Pakistan’s premier cueist, Saleh, finished fourth in the Group E behind Ben Hencorn of England, Mohammad Al Joakar of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Chih-Hua Huang of Chinese Taipei.

Khurram crashes out of World Snooker
Friday, November 07, 2008
By Syed Khalid Mahmood

KARACHI: Pakistan’s last hope Khurram Hussain Agha crashed in the pre-quarter-finals of the IBSF World Snooker Championship 2008 being played at Wels, Austria.

Yu Delu of China proved simply too good for him in what turned out to be a one-sided affair as he won the best of nine encounter 5-1 with frame scores of 67-45, 75-42, 1-100, 69-23, 90-23, 69-45.

Pakistan’s hopes of regaining the world title were resting on the shoulders of Khurram after the exit of the country’s premier cueist, Saleh Mohammad, in the round of last 32.

Khurram, who had staged a magnificent comeback in his earlier game in which he trailed 1-4 against Au Chi Wai of Hong Kong was unable to do it while facing Yu Delu who was in no mood to give it away.

Khurram did bounce back to clinch the third frame after having lost the first two but he could not do much to prevent the rampaging Chinese from pocketing one frame after another.

Khurram’s defeat in the pre-quarters meant Pakistan would return empty-handed once more. Mohammad Yousuf remains the country’s only cueist to have won the world amateur title, having done it in 1994.

Saleh has come very close to accomplishing the mission on a couple of occasions but the world crown has somehow eluded him so far despite his big reputation in international circles.
