Pakistan gave refuge to about 2-3 million Afghanistanis during the Soviet Occupation...This number sore upto 6 million during the next two & a half decades..

It is now time for these Afghanistani Refugees to go back to their own country...Pakistani Govt. gave a deadline to all those Afghanistani Refugees living in Tribal areas to leave Pakistan by September 15th...But this yesterday turned out to be a costly battle for Pakistan when the UNHCR offices in Tribal area was ransacked by these refugees...demanding no paper work or Iris records for their return to Afghanistan...

With calm in Afghanistan all Afghanistani refugees should return back to Afghanistan,including those living in the big cities of Pakistan...Pakistan should have a very clear & no tolerance policy in this regard.

Here are the facts, since you want them. the Durand treaty expired in 1993. Afghanistan has refused to renew it, much to pakistan's irk. legally, pakistan has no claims to the land, and it belongs to Afghanistan. why should afghanis leave?

Since we are talking legalities and promises here, I think India can give Kashmir that long promised plebisite vote any time now...........

Additionally, forget the tribal areas, most Afghans live in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi,,,,, Its time they took there drugs and guns and went home.

Afghanis should leave pakistan with them all the illegal immigrants theseinclude bengalis and burmese both are around 1 million and live mostly in karachi.3 lakhs biharis who claim to be pakistani and are stranded in bangaldesh and are livings in camps there should be brought back to pakistan and measures should be taken to settle them here.

Afghanis must leave Pakistan, there aren't two questions about it. Now that they have peace in Afghanistan, they must repatriate to their own land. The worst aspect of this whole situation is that they are quite thankless people and harbour ill-feelings towards Pakistan. They make claims on NWFP and consider it their own province.
Pakistan is the only country in the world that has the highest concentration of refufgees on its soil.

I am pretty sure that we lost the chance to settle the Durand Line issue with the Taliban. I do not think we availed the opportunity while the Taliban were in power. But, i 'll still double check this.

when you have a nation fight debilitating wars for your strategic depth, followed by civil wars to prop ruthless backwardly governments in your favor, it is highly unlikely that the average displaced person would feel much love even if he's given a tent to live in. nothing to do with thanklessness.

Strategic depth... it's just word play for these people. As long as their Lawhore is safe, then they don't give a rat's arse about anyone else.

My appeal to all the Afghans in Pakistan would be: assert your Pakhtoon identity. It's Pakhtoonkhwa. It belongs to you. It's your land, it's been yours for centuries, even before the idea of Pakistan was concocted by a loony Kashmiri. Take back your Pashtoonistan and join it with Afghanistan.

Pakistani goverments have been trying to get the Afghanistani Pashtuns/Afghans and Farsiwans to leave Pakistan for a long time but it aint working...

Their whole generations have been born and grew up in Pakistan, do you think they are going to leave now??? Lollll don't make me laugh...

The Kabuli's born/or grew up in Pakistan consider it their home anyway, a few of them temporarily went back to rebuild their homes and to see their land with their parents but they say they don't like it, there's hardly a tree in sight, just barren rocks...

Kabuli Pashtun's and Tajik refugees are not the problem anywaym they're pretty docile and mouthwateringly gorgeous, it's actually the ones from our own tribal areas who come to Punjab and cause problems and pass themselves of as Afghanistani's to get the leaving grants...

Afghanistan is not only home to Afghanistani Pashtuns but also to Tajiks(25-30%)...Uzbeks(15%)..Hazaras(15%)...& Turkoman and Balouch minorities....

All of these Afhanistanis are living in Pakistan for the last 25 years as refugees & this is the time for them now to go back home & rebuilt Afghanistan with their own fellow country men...

Thats actually a dispassionate and unbiased assesment but see atleast no Pakistani government levied restrictions on their mobility and unlike Iran our respective governments never confined them to those tents. There are many Afghans who are now well-setteled here... while they have contributed to the economy, they were also the reason and led to the unemployment of a certain class of workers.

I am not suggesting that they bow down infront of us. NO! we have over the years exploited the situation to our advantage and the rest is history. But the truth of the matter is that the Afghans were never ill-treated so its sad to see such people harbouring bad feelings towards Pakistan.

The problem is that we didn't play our cards well...

how can we? we had a united Kashmiri liberation front fighting for independence, without any ill-motives against Pakistan. We naturally relied on Pakistan to support us. But what did we get instead? Our pro-independence Liberation Front was destroyed, and in its place pro-Pakistan jihadis were set up, thus destroying our movement. We had a chance of getting independence in 1990-93, but your betrayal snuffed out that chance. Kashmiris will never forgive Pakistan for this betrayal. What made you think we'd destroy your country if we became independent?
