50 US cluster bombs found in Pak

QUETTA: A shepherd stumbled across some 50 unexploded US cluster bombs in a mountainous region of Pakistan, local police officials said on Thursday.

The bombs were found in a remote area 70 km east of Kharan, in Pakistan's southern province of Baluchistan.

The site is 100 km south of the Afghan border and is in the vicinity of two Pakistani airbases that have been made available to the United States for their assault on Afghanistan -- Dalbandin and Shamsi.

A rural police official said the shepherd, identified as Eshar, found the bombs on Tuesday as he herded his sheep. He hit one and it exploded, injuring him in the legs, hands and torso.

A companion took him to Kharan hospital where local police were alerted.

The official said that with no bomb disposal experts on hand, special officers were sent to the site on Wednesday and destroyed the bombs, which carried US markings, by firing on them.

Cluster bombs are made up of hundreds of small bombs which scatter over a large area when the bomb is dropped.

They are meant to explode as they touch the ground, but experts say that on average 10 percent of the small bombs do not do so and can lie undetected for years, putting anyone who goes near them at risk.

The United States has being dropping cluster bombs on Afghanistan despite protests from human rights groups that they have the same effect as landmines and pose long term dangers to civilian populations.

The writer of the article and many people who read this post may be concerned or angry that the bombs ended up in Pakistan, and could lead to the deaths of innocent pakistani people.But the fact is that thousands of these bombs are lying in afganistan waiting to kill or maim thousands of our muslim brothers and sisters,not forgetting the ones which already have. And yet the government of Pakistan and the other muslim rulers are supporting this coalition against the ummah of Muhammed saw, while the muslim ummah stays silent and the army of Jihad are in their barracks cleaning their guns while the muslims are being massacred. Maybe if the cluster boimbs were dropped by the americans in Lahore,Karachi,Dacca, Riyadh, Cairo,Lagos etc. the muslims would WAKE UP and remove the puppet rulers with a sincere one ruling by Islam ameen ameen ameen

How come you only complain about Pakistan's complicity in cluster bomb attacks against Muslims when Americans are involved?

How come you didn't complain about the occasion when, in 1994, after America embargoed the sale of cluster bombs to Turkey, Pakistan made and sold cluster bombs to Turkey for use in killing Muslim Kurds?

Why do i complain about Pakistan?
maybe its because they are allied with the kaffirs against the muslims, and have opened their bases and airspace to them.

The occasion of 1994 is news to me Jazak allah khair for that peice of information. Which none the less is haram if prior to selling the cluster bombs they knew that it would be used against other muslims. In Islam their is no borders between muslims so there should be no afganistan,turkey,kurdistan pakistan, bangladesh etc.
