still emotionally scarred from it?

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.

really idiotic behaviour

from that moment on, my dad decided never to fly on PIA again

i have heard horror stories of PIA from stinking bathrooms, to horrible food, to bad service

I guess this is in a way a good thing as it will get PIA to clean up its act

merc

my last example was with PIA crew at JFK, I was flying to pak and having been in kansas with like a handful of desi guys I was talking to them in urdu, and they were just giving me such an attitude, respnding back in english, which is okay but in a really condesending manner, and acting as if they could not understand any urdu, while they had been talking in urdu to each other earlier. I lost it and switched over to become a pompous british idiot, and guess what..all of a sudden sir this sir that, and all was sorted. Man these people have complexes. The flight was actually not too bad, food was okay, and in general it was no better or worse than gulf etc. def way below the standards of british airways, KLM or lufthansa though

Now unless you have comprehension problems, looks like the rat infested food you've been eating up there caused memory problems! Another one?

http://www.salon.com/travel/diary/he...er/index1.html

An Air India passenger jet set to fly to Saudi Arabia from the southern city of Cochinwas grounded and its 203 passengers were evacuated after the crew failed to catch a rat on board, an airline official said. The plane was later fumigated.

Also I found this comment by some poster on the internet:

http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question...9060942AA73oX5

you are doomed to die after food-poisoning and bad conditions even aboard Air India. The Indian cooks touch their balls while cooking and the food is partially eaten by monkeys and rats directly from the pots.
Thus there is no sense of reporting something, since in an average it takes 402 days for an Indian court to review your case, if it finds it genuine, of course. [SIZE=2]Source(s):

I conclude there is no difference between Indians and Pakistanis when it comes to behaving in this manner. I have experienced the same thing many times. Apart from that I have also noticed that, One Indian looks at another Indian in way which implies "too bhi foreign aa gaya'. As if foreign travel is like bloody chaand ki sawaari. If it is South Indians or Bengalis to phir jeena haraam, kemcho kemcho, kudmud kudmud chalti rahegi. Still we are so immature.

But at the end of the day we can laugh at ourselves

o yaar, hazaron saal saath rahay hain, what makes anyone think that after 60 years apart we will be miles apart in the crowd behavior.

Its a whole diff topic but I have noted some oservations on interactions between desis versus arabic speakers, or spanish speakers or french speakers etc. I will dig that thread up.

I have one practical advice for all of you. If you ever travel via PIA and feel like going to the loo then please do so in the first hour or so because after that believe you me the toilets will be just unusable. I fail to understand why some desis use so much water everywhere....I mean literally shower the whole damn toilet seat and floor before leaving

The same desis behave quite ok on say BA flights to Pakistan. It's the same old gora complex.

Ok one thing though, PIA gets alot of heat because of the 'passengers', I mean the bathrooms are fine before the plane takes off but once people start using it, kabariya ho jata hai... I took my last trip to PAkistan in dec05, and it was a very good trip, I liked the new planes, the airhostess bajiz were complete jerks but the male stewards were really polite and did whatever we asked em. The whole manchester thing was a pain in the butt but thats not PIA's fault. Atleast for the Chicago-Isloo route, I would still travel PIA, though we have better options I still think we should sacrifice a little bit and let PIA have the revenue, as afterall, its our National carrier.

hey spock i am all for it, as long as I am able to give the stuck up stewardesses a piece of my mind. the fact that its non stop is a plus, because when I do go to Pakistan again, I want to minimize travel time.

although more than likely, I would do a chicago-london-karachi thing with staying in London for a couple of days each way.

I was coming back to Pakistan via Manchester to Islamabad. I took Continental Airlines from DFW (Dallas, TX) to Manchester via Newark (New Jersey). It was awesome!! I had a PIA flight from Manchester to Islamabad. My goodness!! I was so thrilled to fly for the first time on our national airlines but really didn't have a good experience.

A funny thing happened just before the flight landed. I went to the restroom and the restroom was out of toilet paper. I told the air hostess that there's no toilet paper in the restroom. Even though, I was finished with my restroom trip but just wanted to inform them; the air hostess reply shocked me as she said,"they are out of toilet paper." I was like "wow" and went back to my seat. I really didn't expect this but what can be done of PIA?
