This is beginning to sound like a bollywood hollywood joint venture! May be it will end with Imran and Benazir fading into the sunset singing a duet with uncle Iftikhar looking at them fondly and wiping his tears! Ofcourse Musharaf, Hamid Gul and Nawas Sharief will be loudly clobbering each other in a jail, if bollywood has creative freedom.
Imran Khan escapes from house arrest
Lahore, Nov 04: Former cricketer and leader of the Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has reportedly managed to escape from his house here on Sunday after he was put under house arrest in the wake of the imposition of emergency.
"He was detained along with eight supporters at the house. The supporters are at home but he has slipped away," his close relative told a foreign news agency.
Khan was put under house arrest hours after President Pervez Musharraf tried to justify the imposition of emergency in the country and was kept confined at his home in Lahore.
The former skipper of the Pakistan Cricket Team, which brought the World Cup to Pakistan in 1992, had launched a verbal diatribe on Saturday against Musharraf, soon after the imposition of emergency.
Khan had demanded death penalty for Musharraf for "committing treason."
Calling on Pakistanis to resist Musharraf's move and not to recognise new Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Khan had said: " I urge the people, lawyers, civil society to resist this move by Musharraf. I urge lawyers to boycott the court proceedings."
Even after being kept under house arrest, he told CNN that General Musharraf was squarely to blame for Pakistan's problems.
"He never said how is he through the Emergency going to do things that are any different. He was the absolute ruler, he had absolute control so what was the impediment in his way to fight militancy and terrorism," he said on early Sunday morning.

Maybe UK?
I wouldn't be surprised either. Politics in Pakistan is never based on principles.

His website states that he has NOT escaped but is in Kot Lakhpat jail....
Imran Khan imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail, could be in serious danger: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf
Contrary to reports in electronic media of an escape, the Chief Political Secretary of PTI Saifullah Niazi has said that Imran Khan is still under detention by government authorities. Lahore leaders of PTI, including the President Shabbir Sial, have confirmed that their Chairman has been imprisoned in the notorious Kot Lakhpat Jail.
Mr Niazi had said earlier that “Chairman Imran Khan was told by the police last night that he is under house arrest. But around 3 am the police brought warrants to take him to prison and at that time it was discovered that he had mysteriously vanished while there were over two dozen policemen surrounding his house. We are not sure where they have taken him as there is no way he could have gone out without the knowledge of the police and he could be in a lot of danger.” Saifullah Niazi requested all PTI supporters, international chapters, media and human rights groups to raise the issue of Imran’s captivity and security in order to get him released safely as soon as possible.

Its possible he's been detained because Imran made some very strong Anti-Musharraf statements on Geo, comparing him to Shah of Iran and other tyrants.

guys, please dont generalize this discussion into a general Imran vs MQM slanging match. its been done before and warnings have been given before for bringing the same fight in every thread. if you must talk about that stuff then do it on the threads created earlier for this purpose, OR take it to pms.
thanks.

Its really odd.
How can his party guys not know where he is?
I guess I should go attend to other things and then check up on all this business some months later when all the real details start coming out.
Pathetic. I would have expected better.

the only way he could have escaped with dozens of tullay outside his house if he has been picked up and secretly detained by ISI or such. He aint no jason bourne to have escaped w/o a trace. Likely scenario, he is in jail, like his website says.
