Yeap. The list goes on ..........

Perhaps the easiest thing to do will be to cut up chop down Punjab and not suffer an uprising.

But you go in Sindh and try chopping only the Hyderabadi area, and you will have another Sindhi nationalist movement at your hands.

Go try chopping up Balochistan and you surely will see the movement more bloody than what BLA can ever produce.

Same way you try chopping up Frontier, and Pak army will be fighting 100 different wars.

it is very easy to draw lines on the map, it is mighty difficult to convince people to obey those lines.

These type of schemes have been around since 1947, and you can call them Sooba-bazi in the same way like kabooter bazi, Munday-bazi, tash-bazi.

They are good to discuss over a hot cup of chai. But as soon as you go implement them, the result will be an endless civil war.

Don't believe me?

Just check out Afghanistan that already has 100s of REAL provinces but a very IMAGINARY country.

Those who say Indians do it so we must do it too, well you all India lovers can pack up and go visit India. If you find better, cheeper and faster life there, by all means immigrate. Otherwise come back and Thank Bhagwan, Allah, Khuda, Lord, Guru etc. that Pakistan is there to take all that cr@p from its un-intellectuals and still feed them, clothe them, and keep them strong.

Afghanistan has survived as Nation after almost 40 years of wars and civil wars. Calling that country IMAGINARY is a joke!

You may have a point.

Just remember that the real countries/nations do not suffer from 50 years long civil wars. The people of real countries stop the rot within few years or within a decade most of the time.

It is the weakness of the very concept of Afghan nation. It has too many nationalities but nothing to hold their nation together.

That's why Afghanistan is the member of the eminent nations club where many other $hiteholes like liberia, Sierra leon, Somalia, congo, etc etc. are the leaders.

All these eminent countries kill their own police and soldiers and thus live under Foreign soldiers' rule.

Afghans too are imaginary nation where any country can put their boots and Afghanis cannot do a squat.

Now you may find a joke in the plight of Afghanis, but just visit Kabulistan for a day and you won't find any joke, just misery and a lot of it.

I have voted no>>

Bigger government = Bigger problem+higher corruption+higher expenses+more ineffecient.

Smaller government = more effecient+less expensive+lesser problems.

I agree with people that we can not sustain 600+ ministers and their protocol and security arrangements. With 12+ chief ministers and governors it will become impossible to move around in the streets and traffic situation in specially Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad will become a nightmare. Be practical !!!

creating more provinces wont change a single thing. Those parts of Pakistan that cant be controlled now will still be ungovernable if they are given a different name.

Right ON!!!!!!!

The idea is to improve the situation on the street. And what do we need to do for that? simple!

1. Keep your street clean
(Pick up the trash instead of dumping more of it, regularly whitewash the front of your house, shop, fix the light, billboard, wiring etc.)

2. Respect the rules of the street
(drive on your side, do not double park, respect the police officer, obey the traffic light).

3. Be humble with your fellow citizen on the street, and protect their rights. Forgive others as much as you can. protect the women and children with love and not by beating them up in the street.

4. Keep the noise level down on the street (loud music, loud azan, ear splitting sermons, or crackling honking are bad for your street and worse for your health).

In other words, become and then maintain a civilized society.

You can do the four things on the street as listed above with minimal or no expense at all. And the rewards are endless.

Splitting the country in to 15 provinces but forgetting to clean your nose or street, will make you more tribal and less civilized. Just remember that.

Procrastinating

There was a movement to create 27 provinces in 87 during the Junejo government as well. Can you imagine 27 separate ethnic cultural identities trying to share a central national identity. Thats something even the massive soviet machine could not do in over 60 years.

The answer is not more, but less.

Well, there reason for having federal system. If not, just get rid of the provincial system and replace it with unitarian system?

Life is a tale told by idiots... full of sound and fury signifying nothing.

Do you remember the last days of one unit.Awami league, NAP ( Both Bhashani and Wali) and small parties were demanding to finish one unit but PPP and J.I. were not favouring it and even an attack was made at PPP hyderabad office by anti one unit elements so the J.I. and PPP were the last in favouring ending one Unit and I still remember a statement of Shaheed Z.A.Bhutto that it is better that 10 commissoneries shall be made provinces if it is necessary to end one unit. But dictator did not listened any one

I dont think we need more divisions, may be in punjab case, it can be divided in to two.
We need to merge PATA, FATA with NWFP.
for more resources and representation Balochistan can be divided into but I dont they will like this idea, if people dont like it then drop this

having so many provinces is not right thing to do. however local assemblies can be introduced for more power over its development. so the bigger cities can have local assemblies with more local powers. ie divisions can have local assemblies within same provinces.

in this way we will have more people to represent and solve thhe local issues, have strong 4-6 provinces to guide the strategic level with help of central government.

the key in all this, empower the local gevernance! instead of creating more governors and CM and cabnits.
