Waaaay to ****ing late. 170 Pakistanis dead in the past 10 days. They should have gone in last month.
It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, more vengeance, more desolation. War is hell.

Agreed. This is soo sad, 7/8 blasts all over the country in 10 days, countless innocent people died, and now Army is finally waking up to the duty. I really hope and pray they are able to wipe out these psychos.
These maniacs are as well trained as the Pakistani Army and they are all on suicide mission to kill and get killed head-on. This is going to be a true test if Army can handle it.

Info about the day, time of the operation should have been kept away from media. Announcing such operations only gives enough time to real terrorist to hide or disappear into the general population.

Being Waziristani , I would add
May Allah Give us Sincere Leaders (Policy makers)
Politician
Generals (in Forces , Army , PAF and Navy)
(who will think for the Greater interests of Pakistan and Pakistani Nation)
What I have observed in Waziristan in 2005--2007 , our Govt was not sincere in irridicating the causes of Terrorism in Waziristan, but many things were just fostering Terrorism and compelling "Warriors by birth" to fight against Pak Army.
Keeping in view the last Swat Operation , I am hopefull , Our Forces will sincerly do operation in Waziristan this time and address the root causes of Terrorism.
"Allah Pakistan ko Aman ka Gehwara buna dey" , Ameen

Pakistan forces move on Taliban
The Pakistan army has started moving troops and artillery towards the Taliban militants' stronghold in South Waziristan, local officials say. They told the BBC that 30,000 troops backed by tanks were moving in on the stronghold of Hakimullah Mehsud, the new head of the Pakistan Taliban.
They are moving from the north, the east, and the west.
A curfew was imposed in the region before the offensive began, following numerous attacks in the past few days.

I would even go as far to say
May Allah protect our forces and grant them victory against anti state AND anti Islamic elements. Because those who kill innocent lifes are not Islamists. They have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam. Islamists (Wahabi's or Salafists) may have extremist interpretation of Islam but still they follow Islam and i Islam you are not allow to kill.
I really hope our troops succeed and innocent peoples lifes are spared.

Sadly a lot of innocent people will be killed, i really hope there is minimal loss of innocent lives. We have been preparing for this attack for months so i really hope that we are better prepared to help refugees as it's going to be really cold in next few months.
It's going to be much tougher than Swat as there are thousansa of foriegn terrorists there, they have been training for years and know the area very well. Locals support will make a huge difference.
Long live Pakistan and long live Pakistan ARMY.

So where do the plan to displace these people too ?
Displace them from their homes , shouldn't they first make arrangements to home them rather than throwing them into refugee camps and forgetting about them ?
We are "saving " them by evacuating them from their homes but what are the arrangements that have been made for the coming winter months ?
Supplies / homes/food ......is the government going to meet those needs ?
Guns don't kill people ! Dads with pretty daughters Do !
