Suspected US drone kills 18 in Bajaur

Saturday, 24 Oct, 2009

A Taliban shura meeting was underway at the time of the strike, local sources told DawnNews. —

KHAR: At least 18 militants were killed after a suspected US drone targeted a Taliban shura meeting in the Bajaur agency's Damadola area.

According to local sources, a Taliban shura meeting was underway at the time of the strike and the Tehrik-i-Taliban's deputy chief, the notorious Maulvi Faqir, had left the area just 10 minutes before the attack.

The Pakistan army is also active in the region, and security forces launched an attack on a nearby Taliban base in the Chabootra village.

This latest strike also comes amid reports that US and Pakistani forces are cooperating in the current offensive against the Taliban, with predator drones providing aerial surveillance and intercepting Taliban communications. — DawnNews

ive opted for hurting because they're a known cause behined terror attacks in pakistan.

pakistan may be playing the 'we dont allow drone attacks in our area, america is doing them against our wishes' card. but if you look at the full spectrum of co-operation then we can see drone attacks as part of pak/US joint strategy

it all depends on whether you want to fight in fata or want peace

Alienated

Some Facts or possibilities regarding Drone Attackes

1. Could not be made without authentic informations about the targets
2.Many Drone have hit targetted very precisely their targets , but have caused more causilities then targetted malitants.
3. Pakistan Milliteray is excelling their full power , using artelleries , Helicopter , Miraj and every possible weaponery in attacking the millitants and hundreds of Pakistani Forces have been killed in the battle that comes includes from Costible till the Major Genral rank personnels.

If our Forces are carrying out operations against TTP etc then why there is need for Drone attackes.

On the other hand , Drone attackes could not be made with out the informations given by our intelligence agencies.

So it is fully contradicting Game on one hand PM Gillani condemns the attackes on the other hand informations are given by the same regim to the attackers.

Really total game of confusion for me.

In conclusion I would say that
Either there should Drone attackes or Only Pakistan Army Operation.
Carrying out both brings the most worst results.

After the death of Baitullah Mehsud to a Drone attack I have changed my stance matter. They do aid in our fight now against the TTP.

“It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, more vengeance, more desolation. War is hell.”

also not only did the drone attacks start the proper phase of civil war (bajour around 2004 where ather abbas tried owning the strike) but it gives the fata'ans an urgency to hit back, organise an army and makes it clear who they should regard as compatriots. drone attacks are an act of war

Helping. Because many of these drone attacks are executed on the request of Pakistan government. America sometimes accepts these requests as a compensation for attacks it carries out for its own purpose.
Give and take approach.
