I am due to give birth in a few weeks. My previous pregnancies were normal.
But this pregnancy has been truly a terrifying experience! I desperately want this baby out asap because of the extreme pain I am in. I am having harsh contractions daily and its so sharp and painful! I have been admitted in hospital continuously and have been facing a lot of complications. The doctors want to give me an elective c-section and roughly booked me in around 37 weeks. I am ready to do anything to save my baby. But I am terrified of having a c-section. But if I have to have it to save my babies life, I will do so.
But instead of having a major operation at 37 weeks, surely there must be a way for me to naturally kick start my labour so I can give birth naturally 3 weeks before my due date.
Please if you have any tips or advise, my ears are wide open! How can I kick start my labour naturally?

This may be a bit racy but....heck. If you have orgasm, this produces a surge of natural oxytocin which is the hormone necessary to make labor progress. Nipple stimulation and orgasm both cause big surges of natural oxytocin which could induce or speed up labor.
There are other things that are said to speed things up - like spicy food and walking walking walking. But nothing works like the things I mentioned above.
Ps best wishes and congrats to you!!!

like these guys said oxytocin is the kickstart for labour so yup having an orgasm is the way forward...as well as nipple stimulation, clitoral stimulation helps too.
I have also heard pineapple sage tea softens the cervix.....might have to research that one though!

yaar ? What is this yaaaar?
you are pregnant yaar?
thinking about "labor" already yaar?
It is a bit confusing - we just had a LABOR day yesterday yaaar.
but you did not go through labor pains yet yaar?
I use to think you were a guy yaar, who just loved to say yaaar yaar yaar in every sentence yaaar
It is very afsos ki baat yaar - that yaar is having some problems yaar
Now I heard that yaar you cannot really "kick-start" a pregnancy labor yaar
you CAN ONLY kick start a labor day weekend - yaar
I am sorry yaar I have nothing to contribute yaar
but I am surprised yaar that this is your first post yaar where you did not use the word yaar - howcome yaar?
why are you so serious yaar? You always joke yaar
Let the baby decided yaar when he/she wants to come in to this world yaar.
So until then yaar, just enjoy life yaar.
okay later yaar... hehe

Red Raspberry Tea and Greek Salad both help stimulate contractions but may not guarantee fast labor.
If you are extremely concerned, you can talk with your doctor about the possibility of performing a Cesarean.
Just bear one thing in mind though. Allah has created a pregnancy time of 40 weeks for a reason. If you can try to be patient and as an alternative do relaxation exercises for your pains, you will give your baby the best chance for devlelopment and let the little one come when Allah has willed it to.

njmasti...vhat nonsence yaar!

Wild.H...the Docs have booked me in for a c-section when i will be 37 weeks due to complications. okay so they must know better than me being doctors. my other kids were all natural and i dont want to have a c-section. something inside tells me i can have another 'normal' baby. i had my other kids on time around 40 weeks but docs dont want me to go till' 40 weeks saying its risky in my condition. if i have to have c-section to save my baby i will have it. but i still want to have my baby naturally. i am going to try the advises you all have given me.
thank you everyone for your advises. if anyone else has anything else they could share, please do. thank you.

KC, I dont think any of the things mentioned above will cause labor to start at 37 weeks. Some of these things definitely help but only when the baby is ready for labor to start.
If you dont want to have the c-section, you can ask your docs to induce your labor with pitocin instead. Have they discussed this with you or is there a medical reason for the c-section (instead of inducing)?

i too heard that lots of copulating helps kick-start labour...
i am 7 months pregnant and my contractions started last month! i've been admitted in hospital continously. i am facing a lot of complications. i just want this baby out so desperately as i cant stand this pain anymore.
i have been booked in for an elective c-section at 37 weeks, but i want to have a normal birth.
so thats why i was asking if anyone had any tried and tested tips on kick-starting labour!

Congrats in advance Khoobsoorat. I would recommend that you let nature take its course. You've already handled the longest part, now just a little bit remains. Keep your spirits up, and your patience.
Don't be hurtin' and hatin' cuz my phone is so cool!

KC, if all else fails...I'd still recommend that you ask your doc to try inducing your labor instead of doing the c-section if you want to try for a regular birth!
Best of luck to you, hope everything goes just fine and please do let us know!
