Kids falling in gutter is so common that its depressing. I am sure that no parent in their right mind would want to put their kids at risky situation, then why this happens. DO we get immuned and dont see the saftey hazards around us or do we dont care

Your title of the thread is perfect - where were their brains? Seriously. Wonder how the mothers feel - and if they now can't bear the father's face.

ack, so very sad about accidents and the after effects that the parents must endure. My sister is a nurse in peds ICU and she has ALLLL sorts of tales to tell.....about kids brain-dead after falling into the pool. Or mom or dad not seeing them when they back their car out of the driveway and run them over. So many sad tales. Our kids are the most precious of all and yet these things happen. May God/Allah provide the strength to endure and the intelligence to avoid such thinngs.

Accidents happen but what about those who intentionally abuse and torture their children?
there's a special place in hell for them.

didn't you guys see that picture of mj dangling out his toddler (his face covered by a towel) over the balcony? and of course, britney spears driving with her son on her lap. if she was to ever crash, her son would have gone straight into the steering wheel.

i have heard of similar incidents here in the states.
A father who nvr drops off his baby to day care one day had to take her. He put her in the car seat and while driving forgot about her being in the backseat and ended up going to work....like he normally does. Baby was left in the car while he continued with his typical work day. Baby later found dead in backseat due to heat.

Something for parents to be aware of ... if you have a car, keep it LOCKED!! Kids love to play in cars and can get stuck in them, especially in the trunk. There have been a few cases where children went missing and search ensued but found he kid too late. I always lock my car but also showed my boys the release handle in the trunk of the car just in case.

Did the daycare not question why the baby wasn't dropped off that day? Wouldn't the mother have spoken to the father abut dropping baby off...etc. I find that odd?

^ I saw a smiliar true story on Oprah. It was an interveiw with the mother that did that. Heart Wrenching.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

i could only imagine how horrific such a mistake can be, but im trying to understand how you can forget ALL day long....
i guess at my workplace, during the day security does a spot check thruout the parking lot for general stuff....like headlights on...etc....so they walk thru the cars, and god forbid something like that happened, most likely it would get caught earlier then going by a whole day....dunno. Hope no one has to go thru something like this.
Also maybe I read the story wrong, but the dad forgot to drop baby off and took her to work. Later the mom found her dead in the car? do they not at some point pick up the kids from school? like did the mom not wonder where her daughter is? dunno.

when i child is absent one day....they usually dont call. At least we nvr did where i worked.
i know its odd but it happend. I would think that caring mothers would call to see if their child got to school/day care ok.
