I have gained moderate amount of weight during my 6 months of pregnancy . In a couple of months I didn't gain weight at all. I just wanted to ask all your ladies that how long did it take for you to shed off the pregnancy weight gain.
I have to be honest and admit that I don't like myself looking in the mirror , I look so round and chubby. I don't fit in my shaadi clothes Have to get 2-3 new dresses every month.
Any tips or suggestions to loose weight fast after baby is born would be appreciated

I lost 6-7 pounds in the first trimester (but that was a bit of extra weight, anyway). I've managed to gain that back now, and have gone about 7 pounds over it. I feel HUGE despite the fact that I haven't gained too much weight! As long as you're around the 25 pound range, I hear nursing takes care of most of the weight.

Um, I gained 60 pounds and lost 52 pounds within my first 6 months (without breastfeeding). I wouldn't follow the 25-35 pound since everybody is different. I was able to put on a lot more weight cause I'm also a lot more taller than the average girl, and I've never been petite either.
As long as you eat healthy and walk everyday, you shouldn't have a problem losing the baby weight. Most if it is water anyway.

I gained 50 lbs during pregnancy (i was big to begin with) and by 6 months post partum i had lost all but 2 lbs. I have exclusively breastfed and havent made a lot of effort to lose the weight so far. I have tried but then i get either too busy or bored.
And ditto to what Mehnaz said about trying to eat healthy and walking as much as you can or try pregnancy workout videos at home.

I agree with what everyone said, just focus on eating healthy, taking care of yourself and your baby. Unless the doctor tells you are gaining tooo much weight, then just dont think of all the extra pounds, because dont worry, you will lose them. When you have a baby growing inside you and needing sustinance off of you, thats not the time to be worrying about your growing figure and to be watching calories. So just try to eat healthy and nutritious and take care of yourself and your baby and insha Allah after the baby is born you will soon be back to your fantastic figure again!! Anyways I think pregnant women are just the most beautiful things, cant wait to have a baby bump of my own insha Allah!!!!

Good to know most of you have been able to shed the pounds pretty quickly. I gained about17 lbs so far and feel gi-normous! I was even so embarrassed to go to Eid at my in-laws house because they hadn't seen me since early June when I was just barely pregnant, and I feel like I'd gotten so fat and I felt bad for being a new bahu and already getting chunky.
I'm so happy to be pregnant but really nervous that I'm gonna look like an elephant by the time February comes!

^ That's exactly how I was. I had actually lost weight but still nothing fit, because my shape had already changed (boobs bigger, stomach jutting out). I think it's pretty normal!

I have lost 12 lbs so far in 9 weeks yet my clothes don't fit me anymore. I don't know what went wrong. Diamond just keep in mind it takes us 9 months to gain that weight so it'll take equal amount of time to loose it.
And some of that weight is not just us but the baby, placenta & other stuff as well.
Going through the phase of being a mother is such a blessing. Enjoy your days thinking how you can glow more rather than worrying about that extra weight. After all this is the only time a woman can become fat & get away with it

Keep in mind that bloating usually occurs in the begining too so your tummy will look huge even though you obviously havent gained a tummy so early.

^ Yeah and with me because I am small, it seemed like the only space for the womb to go was outward. It depends on your physical structure as well.

I am in my last month of pregnancy and I have put on 25 pounds which looks really reasonable on me. I shock people when I tell them I am almost full term...because I am not showing much even after the weight gain...And as Sahar said, it has a lot to do with the body structure....My doc says that the reason for that is that I have a long waist...so there is enough room for the baby without the need for it to protrude out...

in my first term I lost weight and then i gained only what I lost in my 3 term. (5-7 kilos) baby was 3 kilo.
now I fit in my old cloths but I need to tone my tummy, but as it is still hurting inside I am not doing any exercise right now.
As I too am exclusively breastfeeding, I am not gaining any weight otherwise I would have :-/
dont worry, you lose most of the weight right after the baby is born, after that drink lots of water and eat healthy and a bit of exercise and walking will take care of the rest.
