Julia Grovenburg is due to give birth in December -- and in January. The Arkansas resident says she is carrying two fetuses conceived 2.5 weeks apart. She's not the first woman to say she has conceived though already pregnant -- a phenomenon called superfetation.
Getting pregnant while pregnant: Superfetation occurs when a pregnant woman ovulates (rare), the ovum gets fertilized (rarer) and the fetus finds room in the womb ( alert the media).
Doubters: Some medical experts say superfetation in this case is unlikely. Here's why. Her obstetrician disagrees. What he says.
Amazing multiples: Ame and Lia Herrity were conceived three weeks apart and born together in 2007 (by cesarean section). Thomas and Harriet Mullineux share a similar story.
Room for doubt: In 2002, Italy's Flavia D'Angelo announced that she was carrying triplets she conceived while she was six months pregnant. Or so she said.
Major misconceptions: Pregnancy stops ovulation -- usually. But breast-feeding and ''it's my first time'' are among birth control myths.
Other multiples: If a woman is carrying two fetuses fathered by two different men, the medical term is this.

My friend has a double uterus or something like that, I forget what the medical term for it is exactly. Maybe its not two distinct ones, but like two compartments or something. So she always has to have a C-section because there isnt enough room for her baby in there. She told me it is possible for her to get pregnant on one side and then later get pregnant on the other side as well...or something strange like that,,, I will have to ask her for the medical term and explaination of it again so I can look it up in more detail, its quite fascinating

No, it is two different fetuses, in 1 uterus. I can't seem to find the picture of teh ultrasound, but you can clearly see two different sized amniotic sacs, one bigger than the other. It's a really rare case; only 20 cases have been reported in the history of recorded mankind.

it's said there is a possibility of the second baby to be born really premature, or die because most of the n utriets go to the first baby, but in this couple's case it looked like everything was normal, and she would give birth to 2 healthy babies.

Amazing and kind of cool--especially considering the two fetuses are only a couple weeks apart in age so they can safely be born at the same time inshaallah.
This reminds me in a weird way of cats---when female cats are in heat they can ovulate multiple times over several days and often are 'fertilized' by multiple male cats. So in some litters of kittens not all the babies have the same dad or were conceived at the same time.
