Go to the drug store. They have plenty of those special shampoos that are supposed to kill the lice with chemicals. Then you need to patiently sit and comb out the lice and eggs (a special fine comb comes in the box usually). You will probably have to check and maybe even throw out bedding and other fabrics if the infestation is bad.

JinCho, no it is better to use medication which is permenent.
Make sure you wash all stuffed toys and bedding, pillows, covers etc... in hot water.
Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open...

Yah I wouldn't waste time trying out desi remedies. Get them out ASAP and with something reliable! Those things reproduce fast, and the longer they wait and waste time, the more stuff will become infested.
They should probably inform the school.

You can find special shampoos designed specifically for lice-ridden hair.
Have your pharmacist direct you to the appropriate shampoo.
And don't forget that you'll have to wash pillow cases, toys, and other things your child came into contact with.
Also........if your child came home from school with lice.......or went to school with lice in his/her hair.........I'm thinking it would be good to let the teacher know.
A lice check can take place for students and the teacher can take the necessary precautions in the classroom.

wash with the special shampoo then oil the hair and comb them out the oil stops them from moving and is easier to remove them
