How bad is the situation in Peshawar right now? Are people still going out to shops, restaurants etc? Or do people stay indoors mostly?
Thank you.

Sofia things are not good but they are not as bad as portrayed by media. I spend a month in Peshawar a couple of weeks back and alhumdulillah, situation is not that bad.
People do go out to restourants and markets. There are just few areas like ring road or peshawar to charsadda motorway I would suggest to avoid late night. Other then that I dont think there is any problem.
"It's one of the gods of Africa, It holds the power of life and death. An elephant can kill you. A lion or leopard can kill you. And a mamba can kill you. But with a mamba bite, since the dawn of time, it's sure. It is death incarnate."

As long as you stay away from crowdy places, I think you be fine . In saying that, I saw no issues while I was there in March anyways....

i always hate going to peshawar. it is truly such a backward city. so dirty and the men there are cruel and make the experience of going there horrible. dont mean to cause anyone any offence esp if you are from there. but just speaking my mind because whenever i go through i leave with a headache! lol.
but it is crowded and more alive than ever despite all that has happened.

Maybe its the places you go to.......
I've always found them to be very courteous of women !
Whenever I've travelled to Peshawar I've been treated with respect and courtesy by the menfolk. They will always make way for you , if there is a queue they always let the women go ahead and even offer to help if they find a woman alone in a place where there are too many men.
Guns don't kill people ! Dads with pretty daughters Do !

its been 10 years I have been to Peshawar now, i have visited this city about 4-5 times, it has its own culture, and like the city and its people. there are bad apples everywhere.
I have been to this city for stopovers or just bit of Shopping from Karkhana Bazar and Chappal Kebabs.
on one occasion bus a conductor tried to charge me more as i wasnt a local and didnt understand pushto. the poor conductor hassled by the fellow passengers on this and he has to return the excessive fare
if they can be nice to a man from Punjab, I doubt it very much they mistreat a woman.
