your thoughts on this, what is the absolute philosophical value of death to life? how does an abstract view of death enables us to value it more?

if one truely gets the grip that death is the end, he/she will not strive as hard on the earthly things which will eventually depart from them. Instead, we would try to search what is the true purpose of life on Earth.

very true. other people may have their subjective ideas of what is the purpose of life.
i believe the true purpose is learning from life and being able to set a good example after all.

i think ageing gives life its meaning, moreso than death. if death occurred abruptly at some random time (with probability increasing with time) we wouldnt attribute the same meaning to it.

aging is a necessarry part. its the age that shows a glimmpse into what one has gone through the life lived already. hopefully, if a child is left to the world, the world will be able to benefit from that child & treat the child right. visiting old age is an uncontrollable and necessary preoccupation which distrubs and gives a certain kind of peace at the same time, for the foreknowledge that all has to be alright according to the efforts.
