To all of the guys who infact are trying their tummy-best to try to label music as the diesel of soul, I have just one Q for u all...

If that was so necessary, Why didn't our Prophet (P.B.U.H), or his several companions, and e.t.c... had like a singular instant when they might have asked a singer to cometh forward and bless their souls with food and nutrition. Ever?

There is a single Instant when Prophet Sallah-o-Alaihiwasslam suggested that the groom's party should send a singer for the wedding to the bride's... (An instant in Madina)... but apart from that, none of those Jallel Al qadr sahabi and Prophet himself had given in to any form of music...

So???

(And don't come with the excuse that they didn't had radio at that time... )

You know this misplaced reverence (or bher chaal) is actually drowning Pakistanis in the sea of ignorance.

Just look at your life today from morning till the next morning. Most likely 99% of your physical life is nowhere near how Prophet pbuh lived his life.

Smart people do have a connection with Prophet pbuh on SPIRITUAL level. But the physical activities in terms of travel, eating, going to office, driving, sleeping, house designs almost everything has changed to an extent, that you will utterly fail to live if you start asking this strange and misdirected question

...... . Why didn't our Prophet (P.B.U.H), or his several companions, and e.t.c... had like a singular instant when they might have done XYZ.........


1. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), wear pant shirt or shalwar kameez? Any single instant? HECK NO!

2. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), use tooth paste? Any single instant? HECK NO!

3. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), use propane gas to cook his food? Any single instant? HECK NO!

4. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), drive a car. If so on the left hand side or right hand side? Any single instant? HECK NO!

5. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), go to school and joined JTI or MQM? Any single instant? HECK NO!

6. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), live in an air-conditioned or heated home? Any single instant? HECK NO!

7. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), use electricity? Any single instant? HECK NO!

And the list goes on and on.


In reality both Islamists and secular Muslims are following spiritual aspects. Physical aspects of prophet (P.B.U.H) life cannot to be ditto copied. Remember he lived One THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED ++ years ago.

Same goes for music. let people enjoy the music the way they like. If you don't like a particular form of music or no music at all. Then by all means DO NOT listen to music.

But for Allah's sake, do not twist our prophet (P.B.U.H) life to suit your purposes.

-He used Miswak on thousands of occassions. I guess that 'll qualify to answer or isn't?

-but he Ate cooked food. If the luxury would have been availabe, he would have used it as well.

4. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), drive a car. If so on the left hand side or right hand side? Any single instant? HECK NO!

-It's sunnah to learn to ride a horse. If a car was available, why wouldn't?

5. Did prophet (P.B.U.H), go to school and joined JTI or MQM? Any single instant? HECK NO!

And so on... without those luxuries at that time, 1400 years ago almost... he didn't, but he might as well have...
Those are some of the very stupid questions I have seen in some time.


Now this part was plain nonsensical.. realizing the fact that music was available at those times, you are comparing music with other technological advancements of modren world. Hey can u gimme a break will ya???

I listen to music... limited but yes I do... but then I also know that it's something that our Prophet (P.B.U.H) didn't like, let alone had it as a hobby. So there's ur answer right there. Dare to disagree? Well......

Perhaps he didn't like the rough duff music. He may have liked Qawwali. Similarly there are 100s of different styles and forms of music.

You have answered your questions when you say:

Then perhaps he might have liked beat it by Michael Jackson if it was available back then.

There is no way you can draw a general conclusion based on a very limited sample of music back then.

As you admit that you listen to music of whatever type of whatever amount.

Perhaps He would, but then again... he wasn't a big fan of Qawwali... and so none of the companions... Qawwali and nasheeds they spread long after. Please have a look at the historical figures.

So about MJ, well, again u are trying to pin me there, where there's no ground. I mean, u must know, there was daff, rabab, flute and e.t.c, enough instruments at the time, in working order, but none were touched by Him or his companions, nor did our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) held court with any musicians... then I betcha, MJ's a big no no... common sense prevails.

And then what u are syaing "very limited sampleof music"... that's also a bit weird, as Arabs in the times of Jahala, were QUITE fond of it... and it was available in abundance. (Now don't tell me there was no radio so how it can?)... it was... have a look urself.

I do not think music question in terms of religion will ever be resolved.

But it seems there are slightly more reasons for (good) music than not, as long as it does not promote bad acts.

We all know music has profound effect on people but 'mostly' if they are open to accepting the effect. So there you go, need for emotions come from deep inside and gets perpetuated by external stimulation like music.

Music changes your mood and it makes you forget the present...and can make you act harmful to you or others directly or indirectly.

Same effect colors do to us but we seem to be OK with that.

Maybe color stimulation is very short lasting. Music lingers on the mind even for days.
