Procrastinating

I dont know. Maybe they already have been here

You should try Hawkings book. It has a chapter in it talking about this in particular. Im not sure if its in 'history of time' or universe in a nutshell', get em both, <$5 @ used book store.. or take a course in it. Although the course is mostly math.

I started a research paper titled "gaps in time" explaining if we can travel back in time. The eventual answer was 'no' and I changed its title to "waste of time".

Yes!

Time is a 'forward' phenomenon.
Past cannot be retrieved. Past is not a 'recorded' event which can be re-played.

Time is a 'relative' concept.

Impress me..with your intelligence and wit. :-)

^ Peace diwana

Interesting ... that means high speed travel will only verge towards sustaining the moment going on to infinitum that is asymptotically getting slower and slower but never reaching zero and hence never going in to minus time units.

In Arabic there is really no present tense and it is interesting how your explanation above is compatible with Arabic grammar. At least on this level science and Islam are reconciled in that Allah (SWT) chose to reveal His Word in a language that is scientifically symbolic and mathematically extensible.

The Prophet(SAW) said:
"I am leaving you two things and you will never go astray as long as you cling to them -- they are the Book of Allah and my Sunnah." [Reported by Al- Haakim - Sahih].

Peace Brother Psyah!

Time goes forward only.

When I mentioned time being relative phenomenon. It is relative to motion of objects. Such as earth and sun relative motion make day and night, hour, minutes seconds, microseconds etc.

Only way time will stop is to have motion of objects to be relatively or literally zero

and minus is not possible since then the motion of second objects will
1- either remain same direction
2- Has to reverse also.

Think of two trains going side by side with same speed and direction.

Now if one slows down, it appears as if it is going backward. Only appears, not in reality though.

Motion of two objects cannot be equal since motion of objects depends on its mass also. And in our example, earth and sun cannot move at same speed to make their motion relatively zero.

None of these scenario is possible or at least we will not even survive even a slight change in the speed of earth or the sun.

We have to remember we are moving with earth at 24000 miles per hour.
If earth slows down or stops, everything including us will be ejected out of the earth at this high speed. (massive unmeasurable destruction, Qayamat?)

Hence, continued motion of earth in same direction and speed keeps us alive.

We can run but not hide from another moving object near us in the sky.

Also everything is inter-related. The whole galaxy is moving and everything in the galaxy is moving in its own axis as well as a central axis.
For simple idea, think of a Tea Cup ride in carnival!

Like I mentioned above, time is a forward phenomenon and we cannot reverse it or else we will need to find the way to slow the at least two objects if not the whole universe.

In essence, Time phenomenon is related to motion of objects.

I would like to know the Arabic grammar if you can explain in terms of time.
