Normally I never share dreams with others except those that make no sense and have no real meaning.
I had a dream that I am about to go to sleep. Then I went to sleep. [mind you this is in my dream] As I went to sleep in my dream I started to dream that I am on the phone and something happens and then I woke up. Now I am in my level 1 dream again. A few minutes later when I really woke I had no idea what the hell happened there.
Now I have no idea whether to take the red pill or the blue pill. get it?

lol. Hardly. It's normal, and it has a name " Lucid Dream"

teggy, my understanding is that lucid dreams are those in which you are somewhat conscious of the fact that you're dreaming. This state may or may not manifest itself when you're having a dream within a dream.
For some reason I experience a lot of lucid dreams... as well as a lot of dreams within dreams - not always overlapping with each other.

haha - can't say about that assertion... it's more of a thinking state of mind even when asleep but who is to say whether one has smart thoughts or useless ones.
Just the other day I dreamed that I was planning my own death, organ donation, and funeral - I was conscious that it's a dream and just decided to go on with it to see what transpires

Speaking of lucid dreams. Have you ever had to get up and go back to sleep and started the dream right where you left of - in a conscious way you make the same dream continue. And it works! (somtimes)

^ happens to me quite often too, but not nearly as much as lucid dreams and nested dreams.

I have dreams within dreams... and i thought i was the only freak.....good to know!
It's so strange, cos in your dream, you wake up and think you're awake, but you're still really asleep...
And something throughout the day will always trigger something that happened in a dream.... and then the next night, the dream will continue.... like it was on an intermission or something...
There, glad i got that off my chest....i'm in awe of the mind.....
"I am accustomed to sleep and in my dreams to imagine the same things that lunatics imagine when awake."

this dream in a dream phenomenon is not very uncommon, i remember reading on wikipedia that this usually happens around the time the person is about to wake up, correct me if i'm wrong. i however don't remember having one.

Peace fayax and Lucid Chaotic
SubhanAllah the nested dream happens to me also and there was a time some years ago when I was 16 to 19 years of age I used to get them often. Furthermore I think I may have even called them the same thing i.e. "nested" dream ...
One that I got that I distinctly remember is the following:
I'm drifting in the air and I can see the sky I am stepping upwards on an invisible staircase and I gradually hear my alarm clock I wake up and get out of bed, I perform wudu and pray fajr salat, then I go back to bed again ... when I wake up again I realise that never got up in the first case that I slept through and my praying was really me dreaming of me praying, because certain arrangements of the room and a feeling dawns on me in this life that I didn't really get up to pray fajr.
It leaves me wondering whether the prayer I offer in my sleep is counted or not. When that happens I get up to pray kaza anyway, it has happened something like 4 or 5 times to me, but now it has not happened for around 10 years.
The Prophet(SAW) said:
"I am leaving you two things and you will never go astray as long as you cling to them -- they are the Book of Allah and my Sunnah." [Reported by Al- Haakim - Sahih].
