Snobish

or making a decision right?
In life we all make decisions, and we all try to make the best decision under the circumstances. But it some times things unfold in the most unexpected manner, then it rquires efforts to contain the demage by those unforeseeable circumstances and make the decision right. How important you think is to make the right decision in the 1st place, and do you fight to defend your decision or gave up to the circumstances?

Thanks for stopping by xeno.

Other than morally or ethically principled decisions no decision is right or wrong, what makes a decision right or wrong apart from your intention is the deviation in the expected or intended results of the decision and your psychological proximity or love affair with the intended results. The measure of the damage is the measure of your affiliation with the desired outcome.

Sense of achievement is never accomplished without being successful in an effort, a right decision is nothing but success at the end, so it is highly desirable for all of us to make right decision yet it is imperative to understand that correctness of the decision is partly in accepting the results, like I said before damage is measure of your psychological proximity with the results, once you are open in accepting the outcome the pain of accomplishing unintended results will decrease in intensity.

Always try to feel gratified with what you have rather than frown over what you don’t. If measure of success is living with the best within the results of our effort then every decision is right decision.

Great!

At times we may feel we did not make right decision and it may even look like a bad decision based on immediate result. However, with time the decision may turn out to be right one.

The scenario may be reversed and with time, a decision may turn out to be wrong even though there may be short term good result.

These happen far too often than we realize or acknowledge.

Off course the mind should be open to try to change the decision if 'result' becomes completely unbearable.

Prolong duration of trying to accommodate is also harmful.

Impress me..with your intelligence and wit. :-)

We wouldn't really learn anything if we never made any wrong decisions.

What ever you decide for what ever situation, as long as you made the best decision possible with a cool mind, you really shouldn't have any regrets.

Sometimes we learn, even after we tried out best that our decision was wrong. Depending under the circumstances, i.e was it harmful to someone, will it become harmful, it clearly wasn't the right decision for what ever reason, etc ... one can try to rectify the situation or the decision, if possible. Thats the best you can really do.

If however, the decision was wrong and you've come to realise but don't really care about rectifying it, then I guess you just learn and walk away.

I also think the worst decision we tend to make ( or at least me) are hasty decisions or decisions I make when I'm in state of great anger

Yay that is a great answer. I agree - the decision you make and the end result depends so much on the state of mind you're in when you make it, so if you're afraid, say, you'll make a fear-based decision

We all try to give our best while making a decision. Sometimes they give us the exact results we were expecting or looking for. Sometimes even more than what we had expected. In other times the result is totally opposite to our expectation. In latter case, you may have chosen the best option available and made the best decision, but in future, the unforeseeable future, circustances suddenly changed and the things back fired. Here in this situation I guess being a human one should be satisfied with this thought that at least he tried his best. Thats why its said that at least try your best. Leave the rest on Allah. Man proposes and God disposes.

It is fact that sometimes no matter how hard you try, how best you put in, but things are not meant to happen, so they dont happen.

Its not our decision that counts, decision is always God's. Our only hardwork, struggle and naik neeyati counts.

Those who err and correct themselves are human
Those who save themselves from error learning form the mistakes of others are wise

It stands for reason that by minimising the possibility of a wrong decision up front means that less disturbance handling will be required in the event of failure.

Fight or Give Up

Fight if it is possible that all will end in catastrophe
Give Up if it is possible to survive
