Why should I not be allowed to take care of the people who have raised me, done everything possible they could to give me a good life? Who made up the idiotic rule that as a girl, my parents are not really my parents; rather my in-laws are the ones I should take care of? I know there's nothing in Islam that it is farz only upon the son to take care of their parents. I wouldn't mind taking care of my in-laws as well as my own parents, but that's in the future. Right now I want to do as much as I can to help out my parents. Is that so wrong? I want to delay getting married because I want to do something good in my life. Not that marriage isn't a good thing, but at this point in my life, it's the last thing I need. But I tell my relatives in Pak that and I get the "Allah raham karay!!" or "Tobah astaghfar!!"

The great majority of people I've encountered. A girl's home isn't really her home. It's her father's or husband's. it's not upto the daughter to help em out blah blah
