While I was in Pakistan I went to a Islamic Institute (AL-Huda) and I remember reading something about rishtay'z and stuff in their brochure...... so maybe you can contact them and ask for help and they are definitely reliable, and I know that they have Islamic Institutes all over the world too! that's all I know... hope it helps!

go out and date and find a good match - sincerely. don't waste someone's time.

what's the need for rishtay wali aunty ?

If you can go on shaadi.com - I know you can date too. cause shaadi.com only brings you enough info about someone - then eventually you have to DATE - to get to know the person. So don't even tell me you are not looking for dating to get to know each other.

i think they mean 'one date' sorta thing...
where.....you like a girl...have 'chai' at their home..and then dump them....

seriously..what a sad way of picking a life partner..one should have the guts and confidence to choose one for yourself..you dont have to be inappropriate or cross the boundaries of decency in order to find a good spouse...

      rishta aunties...goodness...

for all of you who think rishta wali aunties are worst off then dating.. with due respect .. what world are you guys living in? we are not just giving our daughters away to some lafangay lafanter who want to have inappropriate conversations with the girls and pick the ones they like , like they are getting vegetables on sale ..

respectable families ask for introductions to other families and they do provide ample opportunity to the boy and the girl to talk to each other and if the differences arnt huge , then the families take it forward ...

for goodness sake , remain muslims and do not try to copy the west .. and if you do not agree to this then please keep your opinions to yourself ... thank you .

I dont think there is anything wrong or gross with rishta karane waley aunties. Basically all they do is to introduce the families, what so wrong and gross about that? .. Its the same as if your family friend introduced you to another family who is also looking for a rishta.. no?

We have 3 succesful marriages in our family who happened through a rishta karane waley aunty. Basically what happened is that my mum went to look for a girl for her brother in pakistan (many yrs ago), but didnt find a good match on her own or through friends. So one of her friends introduced her to a rishta karane waley auntie. This auntie told my mum about potential rishtas and if my mum liked what she heard, she went ahead to meet the family. And all 3 times she has found great and well respected families .. and all 3 couples are happy and blessed with childrens MA.. what more can u ask for? ..

Exactly Sweetmoi... thanks for reiterating my point ... infact I feel sorry for those who think dating is the only good way to find a life partner ! and I feel even more sorry for those who think rishtay karaane wali aunties are all about the girl coming in front the of the boy with a tea tray !! buddies gone are the days ... wake up ..

anyways Sweetmoi, please would you be able to help me ? any chance you can tell me who the lady is ? and where abouts is she based ? I am specially keen to know coz you mentioned your mom had successful experience ...

      many thanks mate..

Actually there are two different women, but I'm not sure it will be for much help since both are based in Pakistan near Gujrat and in Lahore. I'm assuming you are not in pakistan at the moment?

Edit: I can see you are based in Manchester.. Sorry I cant help you out. I'm sure if your mum talks around in her friends circle, most probably someone will tell her about one ..

first of all there is nothing wrong with being introduced to a potential partner by your parents...this is your parents responsibility..
i have heard a little too many horror stories about these so called "rishta aunties" along with some shady investigation problems..lies..deceit etc...not to mention...the money issue...
anyway..'respectable' families socialize and dont need the "help" or services of "rishta aunties"..its your parents' job to use their judgment...when it comes to their most important investment...--their kids--

secondly, dating is a separate issue...i dont know why one would automatically assume dating to be the only option besides the 'rishta aunty' scenario....
