discussions, activities, etc etc..name em. parents or grandparents.

I know 10 is a small list, but when my uncle passed away, my cousin said they he was sorry that he never told his dad how much he appreciated everything that his dad did for him, and that while he had gone on a tangent from what his dads expectations were, but he did want to do everything that his dad hoped.

      what else?

I always remember the last conversation I had with my nana, he was telling me about his life, decisions, why and whats..I mean I always saw him as my grandfather, but that discussion was one where I saw him as a 20 something, a teenager, a single man making decisions about career, marriage, moving to a diff place, etc etc. I am so glad we spent that time where i got to know so much more about him.

Fulfill my parents hopes for me. Our relationships have changed tremendously in the past few years, I can't even remember they're the same parents I had when I was 16 or so ... but yeah, live up to their hopes.

      And give em a grandchild

      4. Talk to dad for hoursssssss about all his fav topics; politics, poetry, importance of education
      5. Have a movie night where we would watch Amitabh Bachan's movies (my dads fav actor)
      6. Go to my nieces' grave with them both and talk about how much we miss her.
      7. Calling them more often.
      8. A picnic with them would be nice.
      9. Tell them how much they mean to me, that I love them, and that life would NEVER be the same without them.

It is difficult to count since counting would mean some limiit.

Showing love in practical means is the best thing which would cover all of the things one should do with parents.

And love encompasses no conditions to be placed on them. Regardless one gets a reciprocal feelings (some parents may be so called strict or non-communicatng), one should continue to be a loyal person to parents or grandparents.

And yes repeatedly saying thank you to them goes a long way.

It's been a dream of mine to take my parents and my siblings and my children and rent a house somewhere on a remote tropical island and just enjoy each others company. Schedules never seem to sync up and life gets in the way.

I want to do umrah with my dad and I would like to somehow eliminate some of his constant worries of helping out others in the extended family somehow.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Go for hajj with them. I did that and it was the greatest experience of my life.

Sadqa Jariya is one of the greatest gifts on can give to a person. Donate to help build a masjid in their name. You don't need to tell them that you are doing this.

I think naming your children after a grandparent/parent is a great honour.

Visit them more often. Make the effort and go out of your way to greet and meet them.

Listen to them. Not just hear them talk.

Call them over and a homecooked dinner. cook the foods your mother used to make for you with her recipes.

Simply telling them you love them and a hug goes a long way.
