First of all, the name Khizar is not mentioned anywhere. We are not sure if the person Moosa :as: met was khizar or not. Secondly if he was human and died (kullu nafsin zaiqa tul maut) he cannot meet us. Since he is dead. With due respect never just believe anyone. The scholar whose voice we just heard did not give any proof of what he said from Quran or sunnah. Any hadith ..???

I think it was Bukhari who wrote a small refutation of the view that Khizr was alive even at Prophet Muhammad's (saw) time or around that time... from memory here are two evidences put forward

--- That Khizr didn't attend the battle of Badr... all the participant's names are listed

--- The hadith where the Prophet (saw) said: "Nobody present on the surface of the earth tonight will be living after the completion of one hundred years from this night." (Bukhari)

If there is no reference from Hadith and Quran then this concept can be wrong. if we don’t find any Quranic Ayat or saying of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) pertaining this topic it is not necessary that it must be wrong and innovation. However that concept should not be conflicting with Quran and Hadith. This is the key. So far we don’t know about the topic much. The only resources we have are posted above for research.

It is accepted by all Muslims that Khidr (AS) is still alive. Qur'an mentions the story of his meeting with Moses (AS), and as such, Khidr is now more than 3000 years old. He is hidden from the eyes of the people.

Brother, but how do we know that he is alive? Is there a Hadith or an ayat of the Quran on it? The Holyn Quran does mention the story of the person who met khidr.

      My dear brother.

First we have to make our concepts correct!

If someone is alive, does it contradict with Quran and Hadith? After all everybody has to die. For how long one will remain alive its in Allah’s control.

If somebody is alive and hidding or sitting somewhere behind a mountain you want there and see him sitting there, how come it contradict with Quran and Hadith.

After agreeing; we can proceed whether Khizer(AS) is alive or not. So far we don’t know, and its not a question.

To know about him read Bhukhari Sharif and Tafsir.

I will also try to find something from Ahadith if there is anything about Khidr. If you find something please share it.

      Quran 21:34
We appointed immortality for no mortal before thee. What! if thou diest, can they be immortal?
Both Halal & Haram r evident but between them r doubtful things, most ppl have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from suspicious things saves his religion & honor, & whoever indulges in suspicious things indulges in Haram.

Dear Bro. armughal. They way you are bringing this Ayat, it means holy Prophet Jesus(AS) is also dead and claim of Qadiyanis could be correct in this sense. Now it’s your responsibility to bring such a perfect tafsir which makes us easy to understand the concept given in this Ayat. Bro Islamabad is also waiting for it. Thanks,

      inuit

since u asked, i had to go to tafsir-ibn-kathir to check out the interpretation of the verse....
and imam ibn-kathir too thinks that this verse is a clear indication that khizr (as) had died and does not live any longer....
he mentions that many scholars have used this verse as evidence to the fact that khizr (as) is not alive now.....

u may read it urself if u like for better understanding....
