      wa iyyakum,
      Muhammad salAllahualaihiwasallam did give the glad of tidings of Jannah to more people but these 10 are the ones from that specific hadeeth

      I am guessing that you are referring to Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan radiAllahanhu, and I don't know if he was given the glad tidings of Jannah but he's not in the list of the ten from that hadeeth

      Apart from these ten, the name of Hazrat Muawiah (RA) is not included in Ashra e Mubashra.

      Was this basharat of jannah for ahle bait limited to the first generation or did it apply to all ahle baits...

      Respected Sir
      I am not very sure in this reagrd. In my humble opinion the direct Basharat was specifically for;
      1. Hazrat Ali (KAW) considered both as a Sahabi and among Ahle Bait
      2. Hazrat Fatima tuz Zohra (SA)
      3. Hazrat Imam Hassan (AS) and
      4. Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS)
      Apart from Ashra-e-Mubashira, Ahle Bait and Ashab-e-Badar, certain indirect Basharat for Jannah have been deduced by different scholars for other personalities. This, they have done on the basis of certain Ahadis and Incidents. This is my limited knowledge. Please don't hesitate to correct me, if I am wrong.
      Wassalam.
