and let me mention here that its a difference of opinion between Hanafi Ulema, because there is also a hadees which mentions that Hazrat Muhammad used to pray 2 rakat nafil after witr, while sitting... however, some ulema give more weight to the first hadees mentioned above, which means, making witr your last prayer is "Mustahab" and praying after witr is "makruh" while other say its "not makruh" but they also agree with the first hadees, so its a matter of mustahab and non mustahab. and for someone who believes something "mustahab" for him doing something against it "intentionaly" is makruh, i hope my point is very much clear now...

      Question

Can I offer Nawafil Salat after the Salat ul-Witr during Isha time prayers. I offer Salat ul Witr during Isha time, as I cannot get up during Tahajjud time. Is it forbidden to offer Nawafil prayer after Salat ul Witr.

      Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. If there is a reason for performing prayers after praying Witr prayer, such as making up missed prayers, or prayers of salutation to the mosque, or prayers after one performs ablution, and so on, performing these prayers is permissible. If there is no reason for performing prayers except one wants to perform general voluntary prayers, it is also permissible, but initially one should not intend to perform them after Witr prayer. If it happens without previous intention, such as one sleeps after performing Witr prayer and then wakes up and wants to perform voluntary prayers, in this case doing so is permissible. Intentionally performing prayers after Witr prayer is dislikable since the Prophet said: "You should make the Witr the last prayer of your night". [Reported by Imams Bukhari and Muslim]. One should not repeat Witr prayer, for the Hadith of the Prophet who said: "No two Witr prayers are in one night". [Al-Tirmizi].

      Question
Can we pray Nafl after Witr? I also want to ask if we can pray Tahajjud after Witr?

Assalamu Alikum Mufti Sahab! Janaab, i wanted to ask if we can pray Tahajjud etc. after Witr? Example, if i have prayed Witr in the mosque with jamaat, can i pray Tahajjud after that? Also, i understand that according to Hanafi fiqh, we have 2 Rakaahs Nafl after the Witr, is that correct?

Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakaatuhu

It is proven in the Hadith that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) performed two Rakaats Nafl Salaats after Witr.

It is also permissible to perform Nafl Salaat with the intention of Tahajjud after Witr Salaat.

      Assalam-o-Aleykum Warehmatul Laahi

Rabb ish rahli sadri wa yassir li amri wahlul uqdatam mil lisani yafqahu qawli!

      Dear Brother,

First thing is you cannot say 2 Nafil after WITR ARE MAKROOH! Any prayer in MAKRROH timings are MAKROOH! You cannot perform any NAMAZ in MAKROOH timings! But you can recite the QURAN in that time.

You cannot find the stated in any HADITH! How come you say that? It’s a prayer! Even in your posted item I cannot find it MAKROOH! IF anyone is trying perform the NAMAZ! According to the system which was told us by several Ulma e Karam, so what is the problem in it?

Shayten is enough for us to divert our attention in the Prayer time and ask us to short our prayers..!

If there is no MAKROH time, so you can perform NAMAZ according to that standard which use to follow in your region/MASLAK!

So make it Simple according to Hanfi MASLAK!
      Eisha Rakat as follow!
      4 Sunant
      4 Farz
      2 Sunat
      2 Nafil
      3 Witar
      2 Nafil

ON the Day of Judgment we don’t know our Prayers will be accepted our return on our faces!!!

Counting will be start from FARZ, then come to Sunnat then come to NAWAFIL!
So Don’t stop anyone who is following the mention order!

I hope you got my point!
      JazakALLAH Khair!

^^ o bhai, molana muhammad ayaz attar qadri sahab : p did you read the post completely? your reply says you didnt

when did i say that hadees uses word "makrooh"???? makrooh is something which is "not liked", "ordered to refrain from with not much stress" or "there is an instruction doing against that". i mentioned the hadees above with clear reference which says "make witr your last prayer" which means its against performing 2 nafil after witr, but again i mentioned other hadees/ opinion as well, just to be fair and not to hide anything, and clearly mentioned that its a difference of opinion. go to some Aalim, and ask them, they will tell you about both, that's why i mentioned both fatwas in my post. plusss, the first on gives detail reply when it will be ok to perform nafil or a qaza after witr.
plussss it was also mentioned that those ulema who consider first hadees (which is "sahih" and mentioned in both Bukhari and Muslim) as more weighted, they say its "mustahab" and something which you believe that its "mustahab" and then you "intentionally" do against it, you are performing a makrooh act. just like folded sleeves, just like tucked in shirt, just like topi, just like jheenga (prawn, even some believe its entirely haram not makrooh), just like sajda-e-shukar after "every namaz"...
      is that clear now???

there is no "shaitan" here, as i'm not telling you this from myself, this is what heared from ulema too

and there is no point of timing here, you are bringing in something which is out of topic

as for stopping anyone, yes you are right, i should have mentioned that >>according to "some" its makrooh << so carry on your practice if you think its not

Exactly. Thanks for posting this Acenos ..

Also people, Ulema say that only promote Farz, Sunna'e'Muakkada and Wajib Rakats. There is no such thing as Nafl in any Namaz (you can do 0 or you can do 100, but it should never be listed as part of Namaz)...

      Fajr
      2 sunnat, 2 Farz

      Zuhr

      4 Sunat, 4 Farz, 2 Sunnat

      Asr
      4 Farz

      Maghrib

      3 Farz, 2 Sunnat

      Esha
      4 Farz, 2 Sunnat, 3 Witr

If you have time, instead of doing Nafl or Sunna-e-ghair Muakkadda, do Qazaa-e-Umari
My father believed that if the world found out who I really was they'd reject me out of fear.
