Armughal, it fine if you havent heard of it, but theres really no need for the baseless assumptions. Dua-e-Kumail is a famous dua, taught by Imam Ali (as) to his companion whose name was kumail. Its commonly read every thursday nights.
Littlehuman, check this link, u may be able to download an urdu version from here.

This is what the link says about this dua:
Imam Ali ibni Talib taught this dua'a to his very close companion, Kumayl ibni Ziyad. Allamah Majlisi says that this dua'a reached Imam Ali through prophet Khizr.
I don't recall any encounter between Prophet Mohammed PBUH and Khizr AH, then howcome this one depicts an encounter between Hazrat Ali RA and Hazrat Khizr AH? Anyone?
- Dec 12th, 2003, 11:40 AM #7If thats whats you believe, then so be it. These days everyone seems to have thier own version of whats bidat and whats not. To each his own i guess. Although, i'm curious how it became certified as bidah in ure opinion?Originally posted by armughal:

Definately one of my favorite duas. I always carried it around in my bag to varsity and read whenever got time. I love the translation as i think it reflects my life which is full of sins and wrong-doings.

Could there be encounters not recorded in your sahih books that the prophet (pbuh) may have had?
And if so, could he (pbuh) have passed this knowledge down to his chosen vicegerent (as)?

Do you know more than the prophet (pbuh) and the purified ahl-bait in the means to beseech the Creator?Originally posted by rehman1:

Your words reminds us of Umar bin Khattab who used his own judgement and told the prophet (pbuh) that the quran was sufficient for the muslims when in fact the holy prophet (pbuh) ordered the people to get him something to write on during his last days.
Attempting to know more than the prophet (pbuh) and his purified ahl-bait is a common trait amongst certain sects.

AL-NOOR (THE LIGHT)
024.035
SHAKIR: Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.
024.040
SHAKIR: Or like utter darkness in the deep sea: there covers it a wave above which is another wave, above which is a cloud, (layers of) utter darkness one above another; when he holds out his hand, he is almost unable to see it; and to whomsoever Allah does not give light, he has no light.
