I have confirmed it from few scholars. Kindly share if you have any authentic source to share.
Following is what I have found.
Q: What Islam says about rasam-e-hina or mehandi and meau? Can these ceremonies be celebrated without songs and dancing? Is mehndi is sunnat? Can women wear yellow dress and can paste "ubtan"?
Answer: Rasme hina comprises various types of sins like dancing, singing, unveiling of women in front of strange people and to put henna on the hands of the groom by the ladies of the bride and on the hands of the bride by the ladies of the groom. To put henna on the hands of the groom consist of two unlawful acts.
1) It is unlawful for a man to use henna on his hands because it is resemblance to women.
2) The unveiling of strange women in front of the groom who is an unconfident person for those women as well these women touch the groom's body. It is also another unlawful act. Therefore such a bad custom can never be lawful only by leaving dancing and singing. As concerning to use of henna for women so there is no problem in it. Rather it is a sunnah for them. There are many narrations, which tell us that the Holy Prophet (Sallal lahu Alaihe Wassalam) ordered women to use henna. As regarding "Mayoon", if the custom of "Mayoon" also consist of the same unlawful acts which have been mentioned in previous lines so there is no doubt that it is also forbidden (Haram) in Islam. There is no problem in wearing yellow dress and in cleaning the body with particular paste of "Mayoon". And women are not allowed to get out from their house without any religious need.

STP bhai, all those things that are mentioned in the answer are haraam , whether done in Rasm-e-Hina or (naoozobillah) done in rasme-e-Khatmul Quran.
I doubt if Rasm-e-Hina (the way it was pprobably conducted 40-5o years ago in muslim weddings) is haraam
Mehndi is part of that original "Sola Singhar" that is often associated with dulhan. That rasm was simply to put Mehndi on dulhan's hand .. What happens now has nothing to do with the original rasmMy father believed that if the world found out who I really was they'd reject me out of fear.

^ agree.
You can still have a mehndi, mayouN and other rasm conducted in a way that is allowed in Islam. I think we're allowed to follow our culture as long as it doesn't consist of elements that have clearly been forbidden by our religion.

In my view the Mehndi or "Rasm-e-Hina" is allowed for womens, Girls and they can dance or sing provided that it is meeting following conditions
- That there are no Non-mehram Males arrround
-That the sound is not attracting males like on loudspeakers
If one can observe above then it is allowed. But only for females.
Using Hina other then hairs is not allowed for malesThere is always a moral in every story

Is living allowed in Islam? Why do you people make things difficult for yourself. It was not Islam's purpose to suck the fun out of life.
On a related note, is suicide bombing (or any bombing for that matter) against innocent people allowed in islam?

living is allowed as long as it according to the teachings of islam
also Zaat Paat doesn't exist in islam, the Prophet (pbuh) has very clearly said that no person is superior to the other regarding race or color or tribe etc etc.
Tell this to the holier than thou Saudis who consider marrying outside their tribe a major sin, and there recently was a divorce case where the girls' brothers discovered that her husband was from an inferior tribe (they had 2 kids by this time) and the talaq was certified by the shoora court

Then there should be no issue. Most mehndis in Pakistan are conducted with women only. The only folks with a pair of balls attending are little boys that come dressed up to clap with their mommies. Or is that haraam too for these folks?
Seriously guys, lighten up. Every mehndi I have been to has been 100x more conservative than any other pre-wedding ceremony in most other cultures. Can we forgive a person for not advancing that to 101x?

Mehndi is a rasam like many others and doesnt always have to lead to wild orgies. Dunno why everything has to be so complicated.
All of us have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction .............. therefore Gupshup exists.

Well the mehndi and mayuun rasams are hindu rasams so they are definitely bida'h. Secondly, so much extra money is spent on pakistani weddings which is israaf and this is also haram.
Here is an answer by a girl who was previously hindu and reverted to Islam
As in hinduism the wife is considered like a housekeeper and the property of her husband, the mehndi put on her before the wedding means that she doesnt have to take up her duties as the new housekeeper for her husband, and the servant of his mother and father until the mehndi has worn off her hands and feet so its a respite for a new bride so she can be "available" to her husband soley, and not his parents and family at the start of the marriage, once the mehndi has worn off her skin then she has to resume the household duties.
The Indian culture was there BEFORE the advent of Islam.
The Arabic culture was there BEFORE the advent of Islam.
The prophet kept many of the cultural stuff that was done in the pre-Islamic era that was not against the teachings of Islam. So anything that is from the Indian culture that was done before the advent of Islam and is not against Islam shouldn't be prohibited, unless it's obviously representing another religious rituals.
For eg.... If I want to have a wedding and I think that Christian "hosts" (that's how they're called right?) look cool and I want people to stand and eat that thing, then I'm OOBVIOUSLY imitating Christians and that shouldn't be allowed.
We can either reject our culture... or "Islamize" it!!!
I wish people would read the hadith of "whoever imitates non muslim people....", and how they applied it to derive rulings.
And Allah knows best!
I taught the hindu belief system according to the vaishnavas, i studied for more than seven years the vedas, including srimad bagavatam, the bahgavad gita, and the upanishads, and I also learn sandscrit, so i am not speaking without knowledge.
It is a fact that these wedding traditions adopted by many asian muslims, are purely hindu Religious ceremonies, they are not merely "culture" they are part of the religious ceremonies, as the hindus like to carry out and immitate what they call "the past-times" of their gods, krishna, radharahni, rama, sita, and so on. So these practices are purely immitating the Religious ceremonies of the hindus.Jinko sajdey mein roney ki aadat ho dost woh kabhi qismat par roya nahin kartey.
