i'm guite a happy go luck person and have had a very good life Alhumdulilah. Recently over the last couple of months things have gone exceptionally well for me and life has worked out better than expected Alhumdulilah.
How do i show Allah my appreciation? How shall i thank Allah for all his blessings? I have given some money to charity and to a very poor cousin in pakistan, is this a way of thanking Allah?
What other ways are there to thank Allah?
thanks for your help.

Well I would give to charity in the name of Allah... if I could.. which I do often.
I pray often but sometimes when feeling particularly good I would do a couple of extra naffal namaaz for Allah's blessed.
I like to praise him even more, and I like to please Allah by praising what is his beloved and mine...
I like to explore the world around me and do something good for someone.... make somebodies day... just bring a smile to someones face...
I like to dance when I am in a good mood but not a wrong sort of dance I like to dance in praise of Allah and all that he gives me...Everyone knows "Jaws" was Chuck Norris's Goldfish, but not many folk know that "Godzilla" was Faris Udeen's pet Iguana.

I like the idea of naffal namaz...now why didn't i think of that...i will try and do that tonight if possible.
I will get my tasbeh out and read Allhu-akber , subhan-Allah and Alhumdulilah. I will also read darood sharif as much as i can.
I also like the idea of doing something nice for someone...but everytime i think of that it always involves money
I'm a bad bad dancer so i'll give that a miss as it will only upset me....
thanks Faris!

Aah well one of the things I do when I get time is visit the elderly and sick in the community... I often make my own comrades and fellows laugh at my antics but one of my great skills is that I can mingle in almost any place and talk to almost anyone... all the old folks seem to think I'm an angel which I'm nowhere near but I like to make them feel that there is still hope in the outside world.
Also visiting the sick and elderly is a Sunnah of Rasool Allah you need not spend money, no body can put a price on a moments smile and I love visitng the local old peoples homes, war veterans clubs, Hospital wards and even happily take time when I get the chance to visit the sanctuaries of other faiths and talk to them about spiritual matters.
As for dancing... nobody can see you if you do it in your own room dont get angry just spin... and let go of yourself... trust me it is the best way to relax ever you should check out the latest entry in my blog and tell me what you think...
Also music that is halal is a great way of praising Allah...
But Darood shareef and namaaz are the greater zikr.

Like Br. Faris said....Sadaqah of all forms. Money charity. If you have money, go to Hajj or Perform Umrah.
May Allah swt accept your intention and guide to you the highest status (ameen)._____________________________________________

Peace Sparrow!
Almighty Allah SWT! app ko khush Rakhain Ameen. Amal ka daro-madar niyaaat pr hay or Allah SWT! to dil ke bhi haal janta hy. In addition to above comments, i'll say we must read Tasbeeh/Azkar (hamd-o-Sana of Almighty Allah SWT) everytime, do astaghfar as much as we can, offer all compulsory prayers including, Namaz-e-shukrana, Nafaal Namaz, Tahajud, we must fast nafli fasting, always choose those things for others which we like best for ourself. Follow what Allah SWT! ordered us and refrain/stay away from what HE restricted us. Learn, read Qur'an and teach others.
In this regard i'll qoute two hadiths from Sahih Bukhari:
Book 'Call to Prayers (Adhaan)' Hadith No 629.
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet
said, "Allah will give shade, to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His. (These seven persons are) a just ruler, a youth who has been brought up in the worship of Allah (i.e. worships Allah sincerely from childhood), a man whose heart is attached to the mosques (i.e. to pray the compulsory prayers in the mosque in congregation), two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only, a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for illicit intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah, a man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity), and a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes are then flooded with tears."
Book 'ONENESS, UNIQUENESS OF ALLAH (TAWHEED)' Hadith No. 502
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet
said, "Allah says: 'I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.' " Never explain urself to any1 The person who likes u doesn't need it &The person who dislike u won't believe it
