author gives reasons for rejcting the faith

To conclude, I categorically reject major Hindu religious beliefs including the doctrine of the infallibility of the Vedas, varnashram dharma , moksha, karmavada, and avatarvada. I am not an admirer of Ram and Krishna, and I also do not believe in idol worship or the Hindu taboo of not eating beef. I support logical and scientific thinking; and a secular, rational morality based on human values of liberty, equality and fraternity. Therefore, I am not a Hindu by conviction, though I am a Hindu by birth.

interesting site....
needs to be given time and concentration....

Both Halal & Haram r evident but between them r doubtful things, most ppl have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from suspicious things saves his religion & honor, & whoever indulges in suspicious things indulges in Haram.

Hadîth of Stomach Putrescence

The Prophet Muhammad(P) indicated the medicinal properties of camel urine for gastro-intestinal disorders 1,400 years ago when he said, as narrated from Ibn `Abbâs(R) by Ahmad, al-Tahâwî in Sharh Ma`ânî al-Athâr, and al-Tabarânî in al-Mu`jam al-Kabîr - a firmly established narration according to al-Shawkânî in Nayl al-Awtâr:

there is, in the urine of camels and their milk, a cure for those with putrescent stomachs (al-dharibati butûnuhum)[15]

The Damascene and Cairene physician `Izz al-Dîn Abû Ishâq Ibrâhîm ibn Muhammad al-Suwaydî[16] defined putrescence of the stomach as "a disease of the stomach that prevents it from disgesting aliments. They rot in it and it cannot retain them."[17]

Well I was asking about Hindu religion, and that if modern Hindus still pratice this custom / religious act. I know of one hindu girl who didnt practice any hindu customs, so she did eat cow meat.

I want to know because if I go to some Hindu's place and what if they give me cow's urine and I dont know about it.

Selling of cows urine in India is another fact, I think that its taken in the morning right?

Just asking.

asalaam alaikum saadia, from what i know (because my family is hindu), most hindus do not serve cow urine and do not drink it themselves. this is a bizzare practice that goes about in very small villages amongst people who really have nothing to do all day, and come up with these things. actually, i grew up brahmin..and i never even heard of this practice until i came on here.

Narrated Anas:

Some people from 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them, so Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) allowed them to go to the herd of camels (given as Zakat) and they drank their milk and urine (as medicine) but they killed the shepherd and drove away all the camels. So Allah's Apostle sent (men) in their pursuit to catch them, and they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron and they were left in the Harra (a stony place at Medina) biting the stones. camel can also be slaughtered for the water in its stomach, which humans can drink up to two days after the camel consumes it. Similarly, camel dung can be used for fuel, and urine as a shampoo. When rubbed on the skin, camel urine can also provide protection against insect bites. The Arabic language is said to have about 1000 words to describe different breeds, stages of growth, and health of camels

there is nothing holy about Cow urine. It is not written in any book to drink cow urine, nor they serve it in any hindu religious places. They do serve, milk, buttermilk, and alcohol(at some places).
Actually it came from the indian medical science practice called ayurveda. ayurveda tells benifits of cow's urine to cure certain diseases. The technique is called "Gou mutra chikista" .
And it is not common practice in india, people who believe in ayurveda and can go that far drink it only.
This is the first time i heard in my life that people think that cow's urine has anything to do with hinduism.
And i wonder if author knows anything about indian culture, to me he seems a confused guy with internet access.

Cow urine is sacred to Hindus and there is no denying that, some may not be familiar with a lot of aspects of their respective religions but that doesn't mean they are not part of the religion, we shouldn't be insulting about it regardless of whether it is or is not part of their religion.

It does have it's benefits, my mate (gora) who works for a building firm told me if they get blisters on their hands they just pee on them when they go to the toilet, one it toughens your skin and it takes off all the crap, another one told me it's good for chapped skin.

I personally wouldn't use it because it contains waste products, bacteria grows on it fast and considered filthy in our religion, unless I was in a critical condition about to die and there wasn't a more paak/pavitr option I would have a few sips of camel pee-milkshake.

i dont when cow became sacred

Many gods such as Indra and Agni are described as having special preferences for different types of flesh - Indra had weakness for bull's meat and Agni for bull's and cow's. It is recorded that the Maruts and the Asvins were also offered cows. In the Vedas there is a mention of around 250 animals out of which at least 50 were supposed to be fit for sacrifice and consumption. In the Mahabharata there is a mention of a king named Rantideva who achieved great fame by distributing foodgrains and beef to Brahmins. Taittiriya Brahman categorically tells us: `Verily the cow is food' (atho annam via gauh) and Yajnavalkya's insistence on eating the tender (amsala) flesh of the cow is well known. Even later Brahminical texts provide the evidence for eating beef. Even Manusmriti did not prohibit the consumption of beef

So but just see the pics I took there ......... And praise a Mullah less sweetest religion of your own .........
