Just wanted to make a thread where we can learn at least one hadith a day, which might act as a drop by drop additon to our knowledge from the sea of wisdom left to us by our great Prophet (saw).

I would start with this wonderful and comprehensive key to success in this life and hereafter.

Khalid ibn al Wald (Radi Allahu Ta'ala anhu) narrated the following hadith:

A Bedouin came one day to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu 'alahi wasallam) and said to him,

'O, Messenger of Allah! I've come to ask you a few questions about the affairs of this Life and the Hereafter.'

- 'Ask what you wish' said Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alahi wasallam).

A: Fear Allah, and you will be the most learned of men.

A: If you observe Allah's commands you will be obedient.

Q: I'd like to be free from all sins.

^Thanks

Narrated by Abu Huraira (Radiallahu anhu):

The Prophet (pbuh) said:

"Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the nights."

[Bukhari Vol. 1, Book 2, Number 38]

Hazrat Aisha (Radiallahu anha) reported

Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

"The most despicable amongst persons in the eye of Allah is one who tries to fall into dispute with others (for nothing but only to display his knowledge and power of argumentation)."

[Sahih Muslim Book 34 - Chapter 02 - Number 6447]

This implies a lot in this forum, with the kind of debate between shia and sunni. Well good one, i vaguely remember there will be 3 kind of people thrown into hell fire, and the angels will pull them to the h ell fire.

One amongst them are people of knowledge, wehre Allaah guided them, and increased tere knowledge but used there knowledge to flaunt and for the sake of Allaah.
Next are the martyrs who again flaunt, so that people around can remember them for thre bravery the third i cant remember.

^ True, I also remember that hadith, it shivers my body with fear and I pray to Allah to protect me from showing off and bless me with the true and sincere intention of only gaining Allah's happiness.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (R.A), reported:

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said:

Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, stated: I am near to the thought of My servant as he thinks about Me, and I am with him as he remembers Me. And if he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in My Heart, and if he remembers Me in assembly I remember him in assembly, better than his (remembrance), and if he draws near Me by the span of a palm, I draw near him by a cubit, and if he draws near Me by a cubit I draw near him by the space (covered by) two arms. And if he walks towards Me, I rush towards him.

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 35, No. 6471]

This hadith, send shivers down my spine. The first thought which hit my mind, is Allaah loves us so much, only thing is we have to remember Allaah and Allaah doesnt ask for anyting more, but even this is so tough for a human.

Secondly, I am scared to i ask forgiveness from Allaah, after speaking to my friends, especially with any religious talk, at times riya does come but thats Shaitan Allaah, protect all the muslims.

Ameen.

^ Well said brother. Repentence is the key to forgiveness

Al-Agharr al-Muzani (R.A) who was from amongst the Companions of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) reported that Ibn 'Umar (R.A) stated to him that Allah's Messenger (may peace 'be upon him) said:

O people, seek repentance from Allah. Verily, I seek repentance from Allah a hundred times a day.

[Sahih Bukhari: Book 035, Number 652]

Abu Hurairah relates that the Holy Prophet said:

Hasten to do good for soon there will be a succession of disorders like the chasing darknesses of night; a person will start the day believing and will end it disbelieving, or go to bed believing and get up in the morning disbelieving. He will be ready to sell his faith for a worldly advantage

(Muslim).

He who removes form a believer his distress in this world will have his distrss of the Day of Judgement removed by Allah. He who eases the hardship of another, will have ease bestowed upon him by Allah in this world and the next.

Hazrat Anas (ra) narrates:

The Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be on him, said:

A person would relish the sweetness and joy of Eiman (Faith) if he possesses three things.

1. First, he loves Allah and His Messenger more than anyone else.

2. Second, he loves others only for the sake of Allah.

3. Third, after relinquishing unbelief with the help of Allah, he hates to return to unbelief as much as he hates to be thrown into fire.

(Bukhari Kitab ul Eeman - Baab Hilawa Tul Eeman)

^ JazakAllah khair sister for the kind encouragement. :-)

On the authority of Abu Dhar Jundub bin Junadah, and Muadh bin Jabal that the messenger of Allah said :

"Fear Allah wherever you are, and follow up a bad deed with a good one and it will wipe it out, and behave well towards people."

Tirmithi narrated the hadith and said it was fine, and in another version, said ture and fine

Abdullah ibn Mas'ud relates that the Holy Prophet said:

Truth guides to virtue and virtue guides to Paradise. A person persists in telling the truth till in the sight of Allah he is named Truthful. Lying leads to vice and vice leads to the Fire; and a person goes on lying till in the sight of Allah he is named a liar

(Bokhari and Muslim).

Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet (saw) said:

"Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (This term "Haya" covers a large number of concepts which are to be taken together; amongst them are self respect, modesty, bashfulness, and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith."

The Holy Prophet (S) said:

"The most (important) things that cause people to reach Heaven are divine piety and a good temper"

- Behar al-Anwar, volume 71, page 373

Imam Ja'far as-Sadeq (AS) was asked about the meaning of "piety" when he replied:

"Piety is that Allah does not miss you in the place where He has commanded you to be, and does not see (find) you where He has forbidden you from"

- Safinat al-Behar, volume 2, page 678

Narrated by Hazrat Abu Musa (Radiallhu anhu):

The Prophet (saw) said:

"The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking, making their animals drink from it and for irrigation of the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits).

The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah's religion and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allah has revealed through me (the Prophets and learns and then teaches others. The last example is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take Allah's guidance revealed through me (He is like that barren land.)"

[Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 3, Number 79]

In relation to this, is not the Hadith. The sahabas, whihc is a unique generation in the history of mankind and taught by the Prophet, use to invoke to Allaah please accept, atleast one sujood(Prostration of mine) here are the sahabas and then later, use to invoke if i knew which sujood Allah will accept, to grant them Paradise.

Again, Allaah knows the best.

^JazakAllah brother for sharing your views.

Abu Hurairah relates that the Holy Prophet (saw) said:

Follow the faith strictly and be steadfast; and remember that no one can achieve salvation through his conduct. Someone asked: Not even you, Messenger of Allah? He said: Nor I, save that Allah should cover me with His mercy and grace

Hazrat Adi ibn Hatim (r.a) relates:

I heard the Holy Prophet say:

If a person takes an oath to do a certain thing and then discovers something that is closer to righteousness than the first, he should do the second
