^there is one more obligatory salah other then the 5 daily salahs - think harder; I can give one more hint but then it would become too easy *smile*. btw, the scholars disagree whether salatul eid is obligatory.

ansaar and muhajir means a sahabi was ansaari and muhajir. I didn't ask for which sahaba were muhajir and which were ansaar. I asked for sahabis who were ansaar and muhajir.

As I mentioned before, Prophet (sal-allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) didn't make dua'a for awais al-qarni; it is very easy if you think little harder. Another hint: This person helped the Muslims in difficult time and the Prophet (sal-allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said that let's pray for our brother who has passed away.

2 - An obligatory salah that if missed could never be redone (qadaa') (hint: obligatory part must be agreed upon - no scholarly differences)? Jinaza (?)

@fayax

brother, salatul janaza isn't obligatory

@FairyTale

sister, King of Abyssinya Najashi is the correct answer. Whether salatul eidyn is obligatory or not is disputed among the scholars and I said we are taking about a slaah which has no scholarly disputes.

^ yeh hurray i got one point

the five daily prayers can be said Qazaa... Eid prayers are disputed among scholars. then what is left? Tahajudd prayers are not obligatory. so is Namaz e ishteraq n Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan and others

as-salamu 'alaykum

answers to previous set and mark yourself

1 - Name two fitnah that everyone loves and a truth which everyone hates (hint: two fitnah are mentioned together in the Qur'an)?

Answer: two fitnah are money and children and a truth is death

2 - An obligatory salah that if missed could never be redone (qadaa') (hint: obligatory part must be agreed upon - no scholarly differences)?

Answer: salatul Jum'aa

3 - How many sahaba were ansaar and muhajir? Name those sahaba? (Hint: apply specific definition of mujahir: those who migrated from Makkah to Medina with Prophet - sal-allahu alayhi wa sallam)

Answer: there were 4 of them; they were from Medina but they migrated to Makka after they heard about Allah's Messenger (sal-allahu alayhi wa sallam). Later on, they migrated back to Medina with rest of the Muslims during the Makka to Medina migration. Hence, they were Ansaar and Muhajir. They were: Thakwan ibn 'Abd Qays, Ziyad bin Labeed ibn Tha'lba, 'Abas ibn 'Ubada ibn Nudhla ibn Malik, and 'Uqba ibn Wahb ibn Kilda (or Kulda)

4 - Name the person who lived at the time of the Prophet (sal-allahu alayhi wa sallam) but he never met him, yet, the Prophet (sal-allahu alayhi wa sallam) made a dua'a for him?

Answer: The king of Abyssinya Najashi or Al-Ahnaf Bin Qais (the Prophet - sal-allahu 'alayhi wa sallam - made dua'a for both of them, but he never met them)

^sister, that is correct - salatul Juma'a is not obligatory for women. I should have made that distinction in the question.

Best of luck
Earlier this question was posed. I am starting to think that the 6666 is not entirely correct. Are they adding the Bismillah before every surah in the number of ayahs?

[added] never mind . Found a valid answer...but other comments are welcome

Answer
Assalamu Alaykum,

The total number of verses in the Holy Quran is disupted amonst Muslim scholars, primarily because there is a dispute amongst scholars over some of the verses, where they end and if a certain verse is one or actually multiple verses etc. This is due to many factors that have played in the compilation of the Quran.

However, irrespective of that, the verses by themselves or their number does not bear much significance, it is the passages of Quran that are actually interpreted by linguists to understand the meaning. So for instance, verses 1-20 of Al-Baqarah have one theme and talk about three sets of people that prophet Muhammad (pbuh) encountered in his mission. Similarly, verses 21-29 talk about a certain theme, and same goes for verses 30-39 and so forth.

I hope this is helpful. If not, please write back to me and I shall help you out with whatever additional questions that you may have.

Allah Hafiz,
Muhammad Omer Iqbal
